Electric trains are programmed for speed and motion through onboard computers and driver input, which control power to the traction motors. Systems like ETCS (European Train Control System) and PTC (Positive Train Control) use GPS and trackside signals to provide automated speed control and safety functions. For model trains, microcontrollers like Arduino can be programmed to read sensors and control motor speed, while commercial systems use DCC (Digital Command Control) for assigning addresses and controlling multiple trains.

The IE&FR campus is spread over 25 acres. It is located on Faisalabad Jaranwala road, adjacent to the Kohinoor and People’s Colony, a developed suburb of Faisalabad with shops, restaurants, hospitals and other facilities. In keeping with the Institute’s mission, the campus has been carefully planned to provide excellent facilities to students and to create an environment, which is conducive to learning. The main building of Institute have administration wing, central library, spectacular air-conditioned auditorium, seminar hall, conference room, IT & linguistic laboratories and research & development department. The academic block comprises offices of faulty members, fully furnished & air-conditioned classrooms, spacious & well-equipped laboratories and computational lab. For the extension of facilities in the IE&FR campus, a three story multi purposes block has been constructed, which comprises of large number of multi-disciplined laboratories, classrooms and offices for faculty members.
