NATIONAL REGISTRATION EXAMINATION RESULTS FOR FOREIGN MEDICAL GRADUATES DECLARED
Islamabad 24th December 2025: The results of NRE Step I held on 14th December 2025 have been announced. This examination was conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Rawalpindi. The university has been entrusted for all important stages of this important equivalence examination which includes paper-setting, compilation and declaration of the final results, as per PM&DC policy.
According to statistics, a total of 7,076 candidates (6,993 Medical and 83 Dental) registered, while 7,012 candidates appeared from which 1,473 candidates passed the exam (Medical: 1,467; Dental: 6) with a medical Pass Percentage: 21.17% and Dental Pass Percentage: 7.23% and 64 candidates were absent. The exam was held as on 14th December,2025
A per PM&DC law, two NRE examinations for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG’s) have to be conducted in a year.
In previous NRE held on 25 June 2025, a total of 5,035 candidates (4,994 Medical and 41 Dental) were registered. Out of these, 4,994 candidates appeared in the examination.1,252 candidates Passed the examination (Medical: 1,252; Dental: 0). Overall Medical Pass Percentage: 25.26% and 41 candidates were absent.
The results have been uploaded on the PM&DC website. Every individual with a designated number can check their result, pass or fail status. Dates of NRE step -II clinical examination will be announced very soon. All those candidates who will qualify both steps will be issued PM&DC provisional registration certificates to undertake the house job in the country or abroad. PM&DC affirms that the above stated results are based on its standard policy and merit in light of international practices.
Furthermore, PM&DC strictly advised Parents and students to seek admission abroad only in good standard quality medical and dental colleges, particularly in the noble profession of healthcare, which is directly entrusted with human lives. Parents are urged to recognize that choosing unrecognized or low-standard institutions not only places their children’s professional future at risk but also results in the waste of hard earned financial resources and the irretrievable loss of their children’s precious time and years of effort. PM&DC emphasizes that responsible educational choices today are essential to safeguarding both the integrity of the medical profession and the future of aspiring healthcare professionals.
