๐ From Bale IDs to Blockchain: Transforming Pakistan's Cotton Traceability ๐
Pakistan's cotton sectorโpowering 60% of exports and 10M+ livelihoodsโneeds urgent traceability upgrades amid global ethical demands. The below blog highlights how bale IDs, QR codes, and blockchain can bridge local family traditions with international standards, tackling child labor (138M globally per ILO-UNICEF 2024) and boosting competitiveness through premium pricing and trust.
Way forward: Train farmers via ILO/BCI, subsidize tech for smallholders, and mandate policies for sustainable chains. Let's lead in ethical cotton!
