A Future Transformed: From the Streets to the Top of the Class
This is the story of Israr Ul Haq, a young boy from Lower Chitral who, until recently, spent his days navigating busy markets with a heavy sack over his shoulder. Driven by difficult circumstances to work at a young age, he spent his time collecting discarded bottles just to get by.
Today, that journey has taken a remarkable turn.
As a proud MASS scholar, Israr has traded the weight of labor for the power of education. Through the dedicated support of the leadership of MASS (Meaningful Acts Towards Sustainable Success), he is no longer defined by his struggle, but by his success. He recently visited us, not with a sack of bottles, but with a trophy in hand and a report card showing he secured a top position in his class.
Israr’s achievement is more than just a personal win; it is a powerful reminder of what happens when a child is given the opportunity to learn. It shows that with the right support, any child can move beyond their circumstances to build a bright, successful future.
While we celebrate Israr’s incredible milestone, the mission continues. MASS is currently supporting over 450 students across the region, providing them with the same opportunity to reclaim their childhood and their future.
