The webinar titled "Mapping Ideology and Meaning with Corpus Tools” was conducted by CCIRA, department of English, Ghazi university. Dr. Tehseen Zahra as the resource focused on the concept of ideology in different contexts and provided insights into the use of corpus tools for analyzing language. Key highlights included an overview of corpus features and an explanation of how corpus-based methods help to identify ideologies and meanings embedded in the discourses of society. Dr. Zahra illustrated her discussion with quoted examples from newspaper discourses related to COVID-19 and the Noor Muqaddam case. Additionally, she elaborated on techniques for developing a corpus from both written and spoken discourses. Overall, it was an informative and interactive session that enhanced participants’ understanding of corpus-assisted analysis for ideological interpretation.
