An extraordinary era has come to an end with the conclusion of the tenure of Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq as Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University (KMU). His tenure will be remembered as a remarkable chapter in the university’s history, marked by visionary leadership, institutional growth, innovation, and a strong commitment to public service.
Among his many notable achievements are the establishment of more than 12 campuses, the introduction of a paperless e-office system, the implementation of computer-based examinations, the establishment of a hospital through the university’s own resources, and the successful conduct of MDCAT examinations over the years. Under his leadership, KMU also emerged as one of the financially sustainable and viable public-sector universities in the country.
He will also be remembered as the first Vice Chancellor to voluntarily relinquish his charge, reflecting his dignity, humility, and commitment to institutional values.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will undoubtedly feel his absence, but as a true son of the soil, Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq will continue to serve, support, and facilitate his people in every possible way.
