The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) invites female graduates from selected Union Councils of Upper and Lower Chitral Districts to apply for a three-month Youth Internship Programme (YIP-2025) under the BEST4WEER project, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

๐ŸŽ“ Eligibility Criteria:
โœ… 16 years of education (graduated in 2023 or later)
โœ… No prior work experience or participation in any AKRSP internship
โœ… Under 35 years of age by the application deadline
โœ… Domicile holder of selected UCs in Upper or Lower Chitral

๐Ÿ“ Eligible Union Councils:
Lower Chitral: Arandu, Drosh-II, Ashirat, Broze, Danin, Shishikoh
Upper Chitral: Terich, Oveer, and villages including Ujnu, Zanglasht, Rayeen, Istaro, Melp, Kushum

The Prime Minister's Youth Program team, in collaboration with the YDC team, holds consultation sessions on the National Youth and Adolescent Policy at the University of Chitral.

Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Ministerโ€™s Youth Programme, visited the University of Chitral to conduct consultation sessions on the National Youth and Adolescent Policy. The visit marked a significant step in engaging academic institutions and local communities in shaping youth-centric policies at the national level. The esteemed guest was also accompanied by the regional coordinator, Malakand division, Ms. Ghazala Anjum, and team of PMYP secretariat.
The honorable guest was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahab, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, along with the university Registrar Dr Sahib Khan and Provost Dr Taj Uddin. As a gesture of traditional hospitality, the Vice Chancellor presented the Chairman with the traditional Chitrali cap and cloak.
The session was attended by a diverse group of participants including students, faculty members, representatives from development sector and members of the universityโ€™s administration.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the challenges faced by the University of Chitral. He made a special request to the Chairman for financial support for the students in the form of merit and need based scholarship on priority basis, the Vice Chancellor also requested for support in securing a recurring grant slot from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to ensure the universityโ€™s financial sustainability. Furthermore, he appealed for seed funding to initiate the universityโ€™s endowment fund, which would help in fostering academic growth and research opportunities. He also highlighted the need to help revise the PSDP project of the establishment of the university to its full scale.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan spoke in detail about the objectives and vision of the Prime Ministerโ€™s Youth Programme. He encouraged students to actively benefit from the opportunities offered under the programme, particularly through the online portal, which serves as a gateway to various youth development initiatives including scholarships, internships, skills training, and entrepreneurship support.
The session fostered productive dialogue between the university and the Prime Ministerโ€™s Youth Programme, with participants contributing valuable insights to the policy consultation process. The Chairman reaffirmed the governmentโ€™s commitment to empowering youth, particularly in remote and underserved areas like Chitral.
The event concluded on a positive note with a mutual commitment to future collaboration aimed at empowering the youth of Pakistan through inclusive, evidence-based policy development.
