How Our SEO Strategy Achieved 123% Traffic Growth in 3 Months
Our client, based in Toronto, Ontario, struggled to appear in Google’s featured snippets despite having quality content. They turned to us for a solution to optimize their WordPress site for better SEO practices.
The Challenge
The client's 30-page WordPress site needed to be optimized for Google's featured snippets using a list of provided keywords. The goal was to make every page appear in the Google feature snippet for long tall keywords.
The Solution
We leveraged our expertise in semantic SEO and implemented a comprehensive strategy focused on customer research and targeted content creation. Here’s how we approached the problem:
Customer Research
> Customer Persona: We identified the target audience, their roles, responsibilities, and challenges. This understanding was crucial for creating content that resonated with the audience.
> Customer's Pain Points: We pinpointed the problems the customers were trying to solve and what motivated these pain points. This helped in identifying content opportunities that addressed these issues.
> Customer Journey: We mapped out the customer journey, understanding how customers found the site, their touchpoints, and preferred content formats.
> Customer's Terminology: We ensured our content spoke the language of the customers, bridging any gap between their definitions and our content.
Keyword and Question Research
We utilized tools like Answer the Public, Quora, Reddit, Google Autocomplete, and the "People also ask" and "People also search for" sections on Google to gather long-tail questions related to hair removal services and products.
Content Creation and Optimization
We curated a list of 10 to 15 questions for each of the 11 blog posts on the website, resulting in around 120 questions.
We wrote comprehensive answers for each question, ensuring they covered semantic topics and addressed the audience's needs.
Using Miro, we structured the blog posts to link to each other contextually with relevant anchor texts, creating a cluster of blogs that covered highly relevant long-tail questions.
Implementation:
We implemented the strategy based on customer research before keyword research and keeping the searcher's intent in mind.
The process started with understanding the four pillars of target customers: persona, pain points, journey, and terminology.
The Results
By mid-June, after implementing our strategy, the website saw a significant increase in organic traffic. The site went from 6,700 visitors per month in May to 15,000 visitors per month in June. This represented a staggering 123.88% increase in traffic, largely due to our focus on customer-centric content and strategic internal linking.
