Department of Physics, Thal University Bhakkar

The Second Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting of the Department of Physics, Thal University Bhakkar, was held under the convenership of Dr. Syed Zuhair Abbas, Incharge, Department of Physics, with participation of faculty members, external experts, and co-opted members.
The Board made the following key recommendations:
1. MS Physics Program
Recommended an updated and research oriented MS Physics Plan of Study and curriculum.
2. AI and Computational Courses
Recommended the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence and related courses in the curriculum.
3. Fehm-e-Quran Courses
Recommended the inclusion of Fehm-e-Quran Courses
4. Modern Curriculum
Emphasized emerging areas, computational skills, interdisciplinary learning, and modern research techniques.
5. Physics Laboratories
Approved the following names:
o Quantum Materials Research Lab (QMRL)
o Modern Physics Frontiers Laboratory (MPFL)
o Physics Innovation and Experimentation Laboratory (PIXL)
6. Departmental Logo
Recommended an official Department of Physics logo reflecting science, innovation, and research.
7. Future-Ready Education
Reaffirmed the Department's commitment to quality education, research excellence, innovation, and emerging technologies.
Dr. Syed Zuhair Abbas thanked all Board members for their valuable input and continued support in strengthening the academic and research direction of the Department.
