Today, Dr. Niaz Hussain, Chief Scientist at Arid Zone Research Institute (AZRI) Bhakkar, visited our Plant Ecophysiology Lab at Thal University Bhakkar! 👨🔬🌱
He inspected ongoing trials of collaborative research projects by our students Abid Hussain and was briefed by Muhammad Hammad. They presented a detailed briefing and demonstration of their work, showcasing the lab’s dedication to cutting-edge research.

First Meeting of the Academic Council
The first meeting of the Academic Council of Thal University Bhakkar was held on December 30, 2025, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar. The meeting included permanent members, senior representatives from the Higher Education Department, the Punjab government, and other educational institutions.

The council approved:
- Undergraduate & graduate semester regulations
- Library rules, discipline rules, degree/transcript formats
- HEC-aligned policies
- Short courses, professional certificates, R&D promotion policy, academic planning framework, and departmental strategic plans.
VC Prof. Buzdar stated the council will enhance academic standards, transparency, and curriculum aligned with national/regional needs. He thanked experts and officials for their input, vowing to make Thal University a reputable education hub.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair. 😊
