The fifteen-day celebrations of the battle of Marka e Haq Bunyan ul Marsoos are ongoing under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran. The School of State Sciences of Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized an important panel discussion and awareness walk on the completion of one year of the Marka e Haq Bunyan ul-Marsoos. The session was chaired by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti. She said that this was not an incident but a nation facing a force greater than its own strength. When India attacked Pakistan, Pakistan’s forces responded befittingly. The people of Pakistan supported their forces by demonstrating national solidarity. Director School of State Sciences Dr. Sarfaraz Batool emphasized the role of the university in promoting intellectual importance among students and said that this concept is not just a term but a symbol of unity, stability and collective strength, which provides a strong foundation to any nation. On this occasion, Shakeel Akhtar Chairman, Department of Political Science, Dr. Shahbaz Ali Khan Chairman, Department of Public Administration, Ansar Abbas Incharge, Department of Gender Studies and Dr. Ahsan Riaz Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science informed the participants in detail about the Marka e Haq Bunyan ul Marsoos. The panel discussion was moderated by Ayesha Kamran, Lecturer, Department of Public Administration. Later, a special walk was taken out under the leadership of Professor Dr. Rubina Bhatti.

IUB Seminar “Her Struggle, Our Strength” Marks International Labour Day 2026

BAHAWALPUR: The Women Development Center and Usman Buzdar School of State Sciences at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur hosted the seminar _“Her Struggle, Our Strength”_ today to mark International Labour Day 2026.

Held at 11:30 AM in the Department of Political Science Seminar Room, the session was organized by Hadiqa Ibrahim, CM Female Ambassador (Batch II), under the supervision of Dr. Sarfraz Batool, Director WDC/UBSSS. The seminar focused on labor rights and women’s role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the session. Dr. Alia, Member Syndicate, attended as the Guest of Honour.

Faculty and students from various departments attended the seminar. Dr. Bushra Sadiq from the Department of Entomology, Dr. Safia Sadiqi, Dr. Naveen Javaid and Ms. Anila Tariq from the Department of English, Dr. Shabana Nazar from the Department of Arabic, Dr. Maruyum Surwardy and Dr. Mehnaz from the Department of Economics, Ms. Hira Riyaz, Ms. Shehr Banu, Ms. Samara Aziz Ur Rahman, Ms. Barka Khan, Mr. Anser Abbas, and Dr. Shakil Akhtar from Usman Buzdar School of State Sciences, and Dr. Zohaib from the Department of Sociology shared their views on the struggle and never-giving-up spirit of female faculty at IUB.

The event concluded with an acknowledgment of the WDC Ambassador Team and university leadership for promoting awareness of gender-inclusive labor practices.

IUB Celebrates Women Founders at WomenWeave Expo 2026

Today at IUB, female students turned ideas into enterprises at _The WomenWeave Entrepreneurship Expo 2026_, held at the Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences. Organized by the Women Development Center, Usman Buzdar School of State Sciences. The expo showcased student startups, handmade products, and market-ready ventures.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran inaugurated the event and praised students for their innovation and entrepreneurial drive, calling the expo vital for women’s economic participation. Esteemed faculty members also joined. Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain, Prof. Dr. Iqbal, Dr. Mirza Imran Shahzed, Dr. Irum Naz, Dr. Samina.

Dr. Sarfraz Batool, Director WDC & UBSSS, led the event, engaged with participants, and distributed certificates. She acknowledged Dr. Muhammad Faisal Siddique, Assistant Registrar UBSSS, for supporting CM Ambassador Hadiqa Ibrahim to materialize the expo, and appreciated the WDC Ambassador Team for their volunteer service.
