It's Time to Celebrate!
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Ms. Rabia Tahir, who has successfully completed her PhD in Zoology from Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU), China, for the session September 2021 to June 2025. This accomplishment is the result of a fully funded scholarship awarded by SAU under an MoU signed between IUB and SAU, a collaboration managed by the Directorate of International Linkages at IUB.

These scholarships cover all academic and living expenses and reflect SAU’s generous commitment to supporting international students from IUB. As a testament to the growing strength of this partnership, 30 students from IUB are currently pursuing their higher studies at SAU under the same fully funded arrangement.

Special recognition goes to Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza, Director, National Research Center of Intercropping, whose proactive efforts played a pivotal role in facilitating these scholarship opportunities. Acknowledgement is also due to the efforts of the Director of International Linkages, whose strategic leadership has been able to advance global academic collaborations at IUB.

The university also expresses its sincere appreciation to Ms. Zhou, Director of the International Office at SAU, for her continued support and facilitation of IUB students throughout their academic journey in China.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of IUB, congratulated Ms. Rabia Tahir on her exceptional academic success and appreciated the collaborative spirit between IUB and SAU. He reaffirmed IUB’s commitment to expanding international opportunities and empowering its students to thrive on the global stage.

Dr Abid Shahzad conducted training session on "Leadership, policy and strategy" at Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur through NAHE, HEC. On this occasion, Prof Dr Shazia Anjum Vice Chancellor spoke to the participants and shed lights on the importance of the capacity building programme of HEC.

Dr Abid Shahzad, Chairperson Department of Educational Leadership and Management/Director of International Linkages, conducted two days training sessions at NFC-ICT Multan under NAHE, HEC faculty training initiative. He trained the faculty on "Teaching as a Profession ". The participants were the lecturers and Assistant Professors of the NFC-ICT.

Dr. Abid Shahzad, Chairperson of the Department of Educational Leadership at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, conducted highly engaging and insightful sessions on micro-teaching for the lecturers and assistant professors of Government College Women University, Sialkot. With his vast expertise in educational leadership and pedagogical training, Dr. Shahzad provided participants with practical strategies to enhance their teaching effectiveness through focused micro-teaching practices. His sessions emphasized skill development, interactive methodologies, and constructive feedback, enabling participants to refine their instructional techniques and foster active learning environments. The sessions were well-received, showcasing Dr. Shahzad's commitment to empowering educators and advancing teaching excellence in higher education.

Dr Abid Shahzad, Chairperson Department of Educational Leadership/ Director of International Linkages delivered a keynote speech to the ICGE international Webinar organized by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia UKM (National University of Malaysia). He topic of speech was "21st Century's Teaching Skills: Understanding the University Students' Learning Styles:. The webinar was attended by 180 international audience. National University of Malaysia is one of top ranked universities in Asia and Malaysia and many faculty members from IUB have earned their PhDs from UKM. The other keynote speakers include Dr Cecile Gabarri from University of Nizwa, The kingdom of Oman and Dr Hedeel Ali Kamel Saed from Applied Science University of Jordan. Afterward, in the question and answer session, the audiences raised their questions to the speakers regarding the challenges and issues of teaching learning in the 21st century.
