An era ends, but a legacy lives on!
Yesterday, we bid farewell to our beloved teacher, Sir Muhammad Zahir Shah (SST G), as he retired after 39 glorious years of service in the Education Department.
For nearly four decades, Sir didn’t just teach subjects, he taught the students discipline, honesty, courage, and the value of hard work. Thousands of students walked into his classroom as children and walked out as confident, capable people. That’s the kind of impact that can’t be measured in years, only in lives changed.
From the chalk and blackboard to the hearts of generations, Sir Zahir Shah gave his best every single day. He was never late, never tired, never unwilling to explain one more time. He was the teacher who noticed when you were struggling, the one who celebrated when you succeeded, and the one who reminded us that “character is more important than marks.”
39 years. That’s thousands of lessons, hundreds of exam papers checked late into the night, and countless students who now call him the reason they became teachers, engineers, doctors, officers — and good human beings.
Sir, the school corridors will feel empty without your footsteps, the staff room will miss your wisdom, and we will miss your presence. But your teachings, your stories, and your example will stay with us forever.
You came as a young teacher and you leave as a legend.
Thank you for everything, Sir Muhammad Zahir Shah. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement. You’ve earned every moment of it.
