Department of Earth Sciences COMSATS University Abbotabad in collaboration with
"COMSATS Society of Geoscientist" (CSG) "Society of Exploration Geophysist" (SEG) and Earth Explorer Club (ECC) successfully organized a one day seminar on “THE ROLE OF GEOSCIENCES IN THE MINING INDUSTRY OF PAKISTAN”.

ZAKMAX(PVT) LIMITED and various mining and mineral exploration companies who laid emphasis on the scope of mineral sector in Pakistan in near future. Mr. Syed Nohman Gilani (Chief Geologist Chinar Group of Companies and founder of Earth Explorer Club) is especially thanked for his informative talk during the knowledge-loaded session. Other distinguished guests from the industry also spoke on this occasion and highlighted the need to bridge the gap between industry and academia through collaborative projects. 4)-Syed Amin bacha Zamin mining company Pvt ltd anounce 2-paid internships to students. That will be proceed further after mutual understand of academia and industry.
Honorable Director of COMSATS Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Syed Maroof Shah encouraged the students to learn the skills in their field besides formal education. He also welcomed and thanked the guests for making this event possible. Head of department Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal graced the occasion and distributed souvenirs amongst the guests. He also thanked the guests for their participation in the seminar during his closing remarks. Department of Earth Sciences –Comsats university Abbotabad appreciates the efforts of organizers especially ‘Team CSG’ for organizing knowledgeable and fruitful session.

Our Guest Speaker was Mr.Muhamad Imran Javed. He is a well known Geophysicist. He is currently working in Smart Solo Company as a Technical Engineer.He has done various projects in the field of Geophysics. He is also the member of PAPG, SEG, AAPG.

Great Achievement of CSG & dept of ERS . We represent our institution at international forum.Our student chapter has been approved by SEG (Society of exploration Geophysics). This is all done due to the efforts of our team . It's a Great achievement for CAMPUS and DEPT OF ERS that the COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus is the second University of Pakistan that has started the student chapter of SEG.

(He is a well Known Geophysicst. He has done Msc in Geoohysics from Bahria University Karachi Campus. He is currently working as a Client Support Manager in Smart Solo DTCC. He is also the member of PAPG, SEG,AAPG and also the senior member of youth Parliment of Pakistan since 2008).
