Internship Viva
Department of Microbiology
GPGC Mandian 12 & 13May 2026

Fifteen out of 18 students of Department of Microbiology did internship during winter break. Their viva voce was planned on 12th & 13th May. The viva of 15 students were conducted under the supervision Prof. Dr. Rustam, College Internship Coordinator. Other members of evaluation team were Prof. Naeemullah (HOD Microbiology) and Prof. Ejaz (Departmental Internship Incharge). Internees shared their internship experiences along with challenges they faced during internship. They also shared the knowledge and skills they acquired during their internship period. Logbooks and Internship reports were examined closely. Students who had done only four weeks internship were directed to do two weeks more internship. Students were confident about the tasks they performed during internship. Prof. Dr. Rustam commended the hard work done by HOD and Internship Incharge of Department of Microbiology.

Debate on the topic:
"Is Artificial Intelligence better than books?"

Departments of Microbiology and International Relations
Govt. Postgraduate College Mandian

The departments of Microbiology and International Relations organized a debate on the topic: "Is Artificial Intelligence better than books?". Students from both the departments participated vehemently, with full passion and fervor.

In this debate, both the sides, i.e. "For" and "Against", made strong points, backing their claims with data, medical proof, philosophical reasoning, etc.

The Principal of Gpgc Mandian, Prof. Dr. Ahsan-ur-Rahim, graced this event with his presence. He was accompanied by the HOD of International Relations, Prof. Amjid Ali Khan, and the HOD of Sociology Prof. Bilal. The teachers of Microbiology and IR also honoured this student initiative with their presence.

The debate ended after one hour of rigorous back and forth arguments.

To end this fun and enlightening event, the host called for the guests of the occasion to share a few words of encouragement with the participating students.
Thus, addressing the participants of the debate Prof. Dr. Ahsan-ur-Rahim, Principal Gpgc Mandian, and Prof. Amjid Ali Khan, highlighted the importance of carrying out such activities regularly. They showed support to the participants and the organizing team, for taking a bold step in order to ascend the stages of personality development and growth.
