🧪 Learning Beyond the Classroom | Hands-on Lab Visit

Students of BS Home Economics (Food & Nutrition), Semester 5, under the course Fundamentals of Human Physiology, accompanied by Ms. Shazia Noreen, Associate Professor of Biology, visited Premium Labs Abbottabad for valuable hands-on exposure to laboratory practices.

The students observed and learned about practical procedures including blood tests, urine tests, CBC, sugar tests, and other diagnostic techniques, helping them connect their classroom learning with real-world laboratory practice.

We are grateful to our respected Principal for her continued support and to the team at Premium Labs Abbottabad for their cooperation, guidance, and for providing our students with this valuable learning opportunity.

International Ozone Day Seminar | GHEC Abbottabad 🌍

As per the Academic Calendar, the Science Society, Govt. Home Economics College Abbottabad, organized an awareness seminar on the occasion of International Ozone Day, 16th September, with the theme of Ozone Layer Preservation.

The session was conducted by Ms. Bushra Noreen, Incharge Science Society, who delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of the ozone layer, its vital role in protecting life on Earth, the causes and effects of ozone depletion, and the need for collective efforts towards its preservation.

The seminar provided students with an opportunity to learn, reflect, and develop greater awareness about environmental protection and our responsibility towards a healthier planet. 🌎💚

🇵🇰 Defence Day Commemoration – 6th September 🇵🇰

A special programme was organized at Government Home Economics College to commemorate Pakistan Defence Day and honour the courage and sacrifices of our brave national heroes.

The programme featured meaningful speeches and patriotic songs, through which the students expressed their love for Pakistan and paid tribute to the valour and sacrifices of those who defended the motherland.

The event provided a meaningful opportunity for our students to reflect on the spirit of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, and national unity.

Seminar on Dengue Prevention

As per the Academic Calendar, the Cleanliness Committee, Govt. Home Economics College, Abbottabad organized a seminar on Dengue Prevention to create awareness among students about dengue fever, its transmission, symptoms, and preventive measures.

The informative session was delivered by Ms. Shazia Sardar, Associate Professor of Biology, who guided students on practical measures to prevent the spread of dengue and emphasized the importance of maintaining clean surroundings and eliminating mosquito breeding sites.

The seminar provided students with valuable knowledge and encouraged them to play an active role in promoting health and dengue prevention in their homes and communities.
