Regional Directorate of Higher Education Hazara Abbottabad

Worthy Director of Regional Directorate of Higher Education Hazara at Abbotabad Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi, along with JMC Coordinator for Abbottabad Colleges, Dr. Muhammad Aftab, visited the residence of the late Assistant Professor Syeda Zainab to offer condolences.
They conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Secretary Higher Education and the Minister for Higher Education.
They prayed for the departed soul’s peace in the Hereafter and encouraged her family to remain steadfast with patience and courage during this difficult time.

On 11-06-2026, Closing Ceremony of Sports Week 2026 and IDSL Season 11 was held at Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, under the supervision of Principal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aftab, Vice Principal Prof.Dr. Faiz Alam, and the Department of Health and Physical Education.

The event was graced by Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi, Director Regional Directorate of Higher Education Hazara and the pioneer of IDSL at GPGC No. 1 Abbottabad, as the Chief Guest. His presence added great value and encouragement to the occasion.

All winning teams as well as runners-up were awarded trophies in recognition of their outstanding performance and participation.

Worthy Director, Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi highlighted the importance of sports in educational institutions, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition among students.

English Literary Society of Department of English GPGC No-1 Abbottabad visited the Director, Regional Directorate of Higher Education at Abbottabad on June 10, 2026. They invited the director, Regional Directorate of Higher Education, Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi on the inauguration ceremony of ELS newsletter " Weeded Garden " as Chief Guest.

The director, Regional Directorate of Higher Education, awarded the certificate of appreciation to the President ELS , Aisha Abbasi, and her team. He appreciated their efforts and strong determination in completing this task in the most befitting manner.

The team of Higher Education Department visited several colleges on 06-06-2026. In this visit Director of Regional Directorate, Prof Tariq Mehmood Abbasi was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Mr. Saleem Shah, XEn C&W Abbotabad ,JMC Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Aftab, and Additional Director of Higher Education P&D Javed Akbar. They visited Havelian College to inspect the BS Block, then proceeded to GGDC Rajoiya Abbotabad to finalize its building and contractor matters, and concluded the visit at Government College of Home Economics, Abbottabad.

Mr. Usama Nadeem Qureshi, a Youth Parliamentarian, paid a special visit to the Regional Directorate of Higher Education, Hazara, Abbottabad. During meeting with Director RD, Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi, discussions were held regarding youth potential, youth coaching, the enhancement of leadership qualities, and the promotion of tolerance among young people.

Mr. Qureshi is a motivated influencer who aspires to work with students of government colleges to develop their leadership qualities. He also expressed interest in collaborating with professors at various stages to support students of BS Political Science, History, and other social sciences.

GGDC No.2, Haripur celebrated a day of excellence on 20th May, 2026 with a brilliant Prize Distribution Ceremony held under the esteemed leadership of Principal Prof.Dr. Nagina bibi

The event was graced by distinguished Chief Guest Tariq Mehmood Abbasi from Regional Directorate HED, Hazara Division Abbottabad, Guests of Honor Prof Zulfiqar Ali Principal GPGC Boys JMC Haripur & Mr. Azhar Latif Awan, Ex-Director at the Regional Directorate of HED, Abbottabad, Hazara. Other worthy guests from the colleges of Abbottabad and Haripur also graced the occasion.

Prizes comprising cash awards, trophies, and certificates were distributed among academic toppers, best students, outstanding departments, faculty members, and supporting staff in recognition of their hard work and dedication, marking a wonderful celebration of talent, commitment, and the spirit of achievement of GGDC No.2, Haripur.

Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2024–25 was held with great enthusiasm at GPGC for women Haripur under the esteemed supervision of Principal Dr. Nighat Shaheen. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of students while recognizing their dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic and co-curricular excellence.

Principal Dr. Nighat Shaheen presented the Annual Report for the academic session 2024–25, highlighting the institution’s achievements, progress, and key milestones attained during the year.

Excellence Awards for Students included:

Top position holders from Intermediate and BS programs were awarded medals in recognition of their exceptional academic performance.

Students who demonstrated outstanding achievements in sports were presented with trophies for their remarkable performances and dedication.

Students and faculty members who published research papers during 2025 were awarded cash prizes.
