The Director, Regional Directorate of Higher Education, Hazara, at Abbotabad Prof. Tariq Mehmood visited Government Postgraduate College (GPGC) Mansehra to discuss important issues concerning the infrastructure, building and boundary wall requirements of GDC Oghi and building requirements of GGDC Perhanna & issues regarding Government City college Mansehra.

During the visit, detailed discussions were held regarding the existing building-related issues, necessary repairs, facilities, and other infrastructure requirements of both institutions. Worthy Director reviewed the matters and issued necessary directives to the concerned authorities for their timely resolution & also settled issues regarding Government City college Mansehra.

The 15th Annual Sports Prize Distribution Ceremony, Hazara Zone, was held on 18th August 2026 at Government Girls Postgraduate College No.1, Abbottabad.
The ceremony was graced by the Guest of Honour, Additional Deputy Director HED, and the Chief Guest, Regional Director Prof. Tariq Mehmood Abbasi from RDHE along with the Director Sports, Higher Education Department, Peshawar, JMC Coordinator, and Principals, faculty members and position-holder athletes from various colleges of Hazara Zone.
The event was organized in a grand, dignified and highly professional manner.
Worthy Director RD Prof. Tariq Mehmood appreciated administration & Faculty for conducting successfully and proved to be a memorable and prestigious event.

He appreciated Principal GGDC Neelor Prof. Yasmin for compliance of RDHE office order for celebrating Independence Day with Zeal & Zest.
Principal Prof. Yasmin paid thanks to Worthy Director for his presence & call it a true honor for institution. She appreciated his inspiring words, insightful guidance, and the encouraging feedback shared with the staff and students. She told that his thoughtful observations and appreciation of their ongoing efforts will serve as a strong motivation to continue striving for excellence.

The Kaghanian Old Students Association is the only government-sector association of former students of Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad.

Its most distinguished feature is that a large number of its alumni hold key positions across Pakistan. The Chief Patron of the association is *Hon’ble Justice Ejaz Afzal along with other prominent members.

The Kaghanian association is actively working for the welfare of both the current students and the college. A recent meeting of the association was held, in which the Worthy Director, RDHE Hazara, Abbottabad, Prof. Tariq Mehmood was also being invited

The name "Kaghanian" is derived from _Kaghan_, the college magazine that was first published in 1954 and has been published regularly ever since. The alumni are therefore known as "Kaghanians."
