We capped off Day 2 of our Enhancement Training on Research Publication and Thesis Writing today in the Audio-Visual Building with lectures from Prof. Aiza Dalman on JRMSU thesis formatting and Mr. Kent Jestoni Gabo on Thesis Advising. A productive discussion followed during the open forum where faculty participants raised questions, concerns, issues, and recommendations regarding the operations of the research office.

The research unit has successfully conducted Day 1 of our Enhancement Training on Research Publication and Thesis Advising today in the Audio-Visual Building with our invited resource speaker Dr. Jason V. Chavez, an associate professor of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. Dr. Chavez, the most cited Scopus-published researcher in Zamboanga Peninsula who also serves in the editorial board of a Web of Science indexed journal provided the faculty participants with valuable basic knowledge and industry secrets, demystifying the seemingly daunting research publication process.

Indeed, "Those who have less in life should have more in law... and in research." Thank you Dr. Chavez for this opportunity to learn from one of the best in the country!

I was delighted to attend the CCS Faculty Meeting this afternoon, especially since one of the key agenda items focused on Research. During the meeting, I had the opportunity to:

1. Highlight the potential of undergraduate theses to be presented at the quarterly RDE In-House Reviews organized by CoRDEx.
2. Encourage faculty members to have their students present their work—or present it themselves if the students have already graduated.
3. Promote the use of research outputs to enhance classroom instruction.
4. Inform them about the incentives available for faculty engaged in research.
