๐Ÿ’›12 STEM MASILLAM โ€” 43 OUT OF 43, ALL HONOR STUDENTS FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER! ๐Ÿ’›

Today, we celebrate more than just medals, grades, and recognition. Today, we celebrate perseverance, sacrifices, sleepless nights, silent battles, growth, and the unwavering determination of every single student of 12 STEM Masillam. ๐ŸŒŸ

From the very beginning of this semester, each one of us carried different struggles โ€” exhausting workloads, impossible deadlines, pressure from expectations, personal battles, and moments where giving up felt easier than continuing. Yet despite all of that, we still chose to show up every single day. ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ

And now, here we are.

โœจ 43 students.
โœจ 43 honor students.
โœจ 43 dreamers proving that hard work truly pays off.

This achievement is not only about academic excellence. It is a reflection of the bond, unity, and family that 12 STEM Masillam has become in the last two years. ๐Ÿค
In a world where competition often divides people, this class chose something different. We chose to help instead of judge, encourage instead of discourage, and lift each other up instead of pulling one another down. We shared reviewers, explained lessons, comforted stressed classmates, celebrated small wins together, and reminded one another that no one gets left behind. ๐Ÿซ‚
And because of that, everyone crossed the finish line together. ๐Ÿโœจ

๐™๐™ค ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™™๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™จ ๐™ค๐™› 12 STEM Masillam:
Be proud of yourselves. You earned this moment. Behind every medal is a story people will never fully see โ€” the breakdowns, the pressure, the exhaustion, the late nights, the sacrifices, and the courage it took to keep going even when things became difficult. ๐ŸŒ™

But despite everything, you made it.
And what makes this achievement even more special is this simple truth:

๐ŸŒŸNobody was left behind.
๐ŸŒŸEvery single member of the class made it to the honor roll.
๐ŸŒŸ43/43.

That alone speaks volumes about the dedication, resilience, and unity of this class.
To our teachers, advisers, and parents โ€” thank you for guiding us, believing in us, and continuously reminding us of our potential even during moments when we doubted ourselves. Your support became one of the reasons why we were able to achieve something this extraordinary. ๐ŸŒท
12 STEM Masillam has proven that success becomes more meaningful when it is shared with the people who struggled, laughed, cried, reviewed, learned, and grew beside you. This is not just an academic achievement.

This is unity.
This is resilience.
This is 12 STEM MASILLAM. ๐Ÿฆโœจ

May we continue to dream fearlessly, aim higher than ever before, and inspire others through the dedication and bond we built together as a family. No matter where life takes us after Senior High School, this achievement โ€” and the memories behind it โ€” will always stay with us. ๐Ÿค

WMSU Senior High School Students Lead Crucial Digital Realities Symposium

ZAMBOANGA CITY, WMSU ILS (November 28, 2025) โ€” The WMSU ILS High School Grade 12 students hosted a significant symposium, "Digital Realities: The Multi-Faceted Effects of Social Media on Teenagers," in the WMSU ILS High School AVR on Friday afternoon. The goal of the event was to empower students to understand digital spaces better, use them wisely, stay safe, and become "more responsible and empowered users of media and information".

Both the opening and closing remarks were delivered by substitute students, as the scheduled speakers were unavailable due to the DSPC โ€” Filipino Awarding Ceremony. Fatima Sharieza Abubakar, delivering the opening message, framed the day's importance, stating, "Influences are choices and sometimes even challenges are well-being".

The first session immediately delved into student safety with a presentation on "Cyberbullying: Awareness and Prevention," led by Dr. Fini Joy B. Buenafe, PhD, RGC, the University Guidance Counselor. Dr. Buenafe's background includes over 15 years of dedicated service in higher education, expertise in comprehensive guidance and counseling programs, and experience providing psychological first aid during disasters and crucial mental health support during the pandemic. She shocked the audience with statistics, revealing that the Philippines is the fourth highest searching country worldwide for cyberbullying, and that an alarming 80% of young teens in the Philippines experience the behavior. Dr. Buenafe defined bullying not as simple conflict, but as a "distinct type of aggression" characterized by the "repeated and systematic abuse of power". She also reminded students that Republic Act 10627, the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, covers cyberbullying and noted that cyberviolence affects nearly half of children aged 13 to 17. She further detailed the complex forms of digital aggression, including Fraping (account impersonation), Catfishing (creating a fake persona), Outing (sharing private information publicly), and Exclusion.

The program continued with two further sessions to promote ethical media use. Mr. Deniell C. Magaso, Faculty from the Mass Communication Department, discussed the moral, ethical, and societal issues encountered in media information. Mr. Magaso emphasized that the Cyber Crime Prevention Act (RA 10175) is the law governing digital offenses like libel, and any crime done digitally is penalized with a plus one higher penalty. He stressed the ethical standard under the Civil Code (Art. 19): "Any person in the exercise of his individual rights...must act with justice, give everyone their due and observe honesty in good faith". He utilized the precedent set by the St. Therese College vs. Divinagracia case to illustrate that once a student posts on social media, even with "Friends Only" settings, they cannot claim an expected level of privacy.

Following him, Mr. Marlon "B**g" P. Simbajon, a PR Director, with his fellow media practitioners from RMN Zamboanga, covered media and information sources, providing essential advice on how to critically evaluate sources in the digital age. Mr. Simbajon outlined the fundamental principles of professional news writingโ€”accuracy, brevity, and clarityโ€”and reminded students that every news story must answer the Five W's and one H (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How) and always include attribution to verify its truthfulness.

The symposium concluded with student Fatima Aeza Sitin delivering the closing remarks in place of Nur Dianna A. Sabturani. Sitin extended sincere gratitude to the guest speakers for their expertise, and formally acknowledged the dedication of the MIL teachers, Maโ€™am Indira Concepcion and Maโ€™am Bernadette Encarnacion, and the support of Principal Dr. Riah R. Barcelona. She ended with a powerful call to her fellow students: "May we carry the lessons from today with us as we continue to grow as responsible and informed individuals," asking that the insights from the day guide them moving forward.
