🎯 Successful Conduct of Classroom Observation 1 (CO1) of Science Teachers S.Y. 2025–2026
The Science Department of Lingunan National High School successfully conducted the Full-Period Classroom Observation 1 (CO1). This activity aimed to support teachers’ professional growth and ensure the effective implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) in classroom instruction.
Prior to each observation, Sir Jai Eugenio, Department Head, and Ma’am Rowena Lagdamen, Master Teacher, conducted Pre-Observation Conferences with every Science teacher to clarify and review the Classroom Observation Tool (COT) Rubric.
The Classroom Observation 1 was conducted on various dates. Ma’am Joan Mercado had her CO1 on November 24, 2025, followed by Ma’am Rachel Cruzado and Ma’am Gina Mallo on November 26, 2025. The CO1 of Sir Gerald Alzate, Sir Jerome Malamdag, and Sir Genesis Mago was conducted on December 1, 2025, while Ma’am Rowena Lagdamen completed her CO1 on December 4, 2025.
During the observations, the Science teachers effectively demonstrated the CO1 objectives under the PPST. These included showing strong mastery of the lesson and making meaningful connections across learning areas, integrating literacy and numeracy skills within the lesson, and providing critical thinking and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) activities. Teachers also facilitated meaningful exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning experiences across varied physical learning environments. In addition, they applied differentiated and developmentally appropriate learning experiences responsive to learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests, and experiences, and planned, managed, and implemented developmentally sequenced teaching and learning processes aligned with curriculum requirements and diverse teaching contexts.
After each observation, a Post-Observation Conference was conducted to present the ratings for each Classroom Observable Indicator and to provide Technical Assistance (TA) aimed at further improving instructional practices.
Congratulations to all the Science teachers of Lingunan NHS for the successful conduct of Classroom Observation 1. Your commitment to quality teaching and continuous professional development truly strengthens our school’s culture of excellence and effective learning. 🌟
