San Agustin Institute of Technology (SAIT) celebrates a significant milestone in institutional innovation as Dr. Dickson P. Pagente, Vice President for Research, Planning, and Academic Advancement (OVPRPAA) and Global Engagement Office In-charge, successfully secured official copyright protection for the ๐ฆ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ (๐ฆ๐๐๐ง-๐๐ฆ๐) from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The framework is formally registered under ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ก๐ผ. ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ-๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฒ-๐ and has also been deposited with the National Library of the Philippines (NLP).
Developed by Dr. Pagente, the SAIT-ISF serves as the institutionโs integrative framework that harmonizes innovation, sustainability, research, digital transformation, community engagement, and global visibility initiatives into a unified strategic structure. The framework organizes institutional efforts into eight interconnected dimensions, supported by key enablers that ensure coherence, accountability, and long-term impact.
Integral to the SAIT-ISF is the ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฐ๐น๐ฒ (๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒโ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐โ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ณ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐โ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐โ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ปโ๐๐๐ผ๐น๐๐ฒ), also developed by Dr. Pagente. The CIRCLE Cycle is designed as a continuous improvement mechanism and positioned as an alternative to the traditional PDCA (PlanโDoโCheckโAct) model. While PDCA emphasizes linear process control, the CIRCLE Cycle advances a more reflective, adaptive, and evolutionary approach to innovationโensuring that institutional initiatives are not only implemented but also continuously refined, learned from, and scaled for greater impact.
The official registration and deposit of the SAIT-ISF and its operational CIRCLE Cycle reinforce SAITโs commitment to originality, intellectual stewardship, and strategic institutional development. By securing intellectual property protection and formal documentation, the institution affirms its dedication to safeguarding its internally developed models while strengthening its position as an innovation-driven and globally engaged higher education institution.
This achievement marks another important step in SAITโs journey toward excellence, sustainable transformation, and visionary leadership in innovation and institutional governance.

The successful development of DigiPLAN was made possible through the collaboration of SAITโs IT team and expert consultants from the University of Mindanao, particularly Dr. Melvin B. Manayon, Assistant Vice President for Academic Assessment, and Dr. Ronnie V. Amorado, Senior Vice President. Their guidance contributed significantly to aligning the system with best practices in academic assessment, strategic performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The OVPRPAA also expressed gratitude to Sr. Teresita S. Sajelan, MCM, School President, and to SAIT colleagues for their consistent support of institutional innovations. The session, facilitated by Dr. Dickson P. Pagente, Vice President for Research, Planning, and Academic Advancement (OVPRPAA), gathered office, unit, and department heads, together with top management, to collaboratively set performance targets and assign appropriate weights to each Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
During the activity, participants carefully discussed and agreed on which objectives should be given greater emphasis. It was underscored that higher weights indicate greater prioritization and a higher degree of difficulty to achieve, while lower weights signify less demanding but still important KPIs. This exercise ensures fairness and accountability in evaluating the performance of every office and unit, while also aligning priorities with SAITโs long-term vision.
By engaging its leaders in a transparent and participatory process, SAIT reinforces its commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement. The agreed targets and weights will serve as a concrete basis for monitoring institutional progress toward becoming a leading private Catholic educational institution in Northern Mindanao by 2030.
