๐Ÿ“ฃ Announcing the 70th ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Friendship Anniversary Logo!

The Governments of Japan and the Philippines have selected a logo to commemorate the 2026 Philippines-Japan Friendship Year, marking the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations under the theme of โ€œWeaving the Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, Possibilities.โ€ This logo was chosen after a careful selection process of submissions from the general public with collaborative efforts between the two governments.

This logo, designed by Mr. Edmon Fuerte from Baguio City, Philippines, features ropes inspired by Japanese Shimenawa ropes and the Filipino Abaca (Manila h**p) rope, skillfully expressing the theme of the 2026 Friendship Year. With the intertwined ropes, it embodies the robust ties and ever-strengthening friendship between Japan and the Philippines. ๐Ÿชขโœจ Furthermore, the design incorporates the colors of both nations' flags, the elements of the sun from the Japanese flag, and the three stars and the sun from the Philippine flag. โ˜€๏ธโญ

In addition to serving as the official symbol of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year, this logo will appear throughout commemorative events for the 2026 Friendship Year.
