A reminder to:
📖 Attend Mass and receive the ashes, a sign of repentance.
🍞 Fast & Abstain as a form of sacrifice and spiritual discipline (CCC 1438).

𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝘿𝙤 𝙒𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙩?

Fasting is a form of penance that helps us grow in self-discipline, detach from worldly desires, and turn our hearts back to God. It unites us with Christ’s sacrifice and prepares us spiritually for Easter. (CCC 1434, 1438)

𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 & 𝘼𝙗𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨

Fasting (ages 18-59):

▪️One full meal is allowed.
▪️Two smaller meals may be taken (should not equal a full meal).
▪️No eating between meals.
▪️Drinking water, coffee, or tea is allowed.

Abstinence (ages 14+):

▪️No meat (beef, pork, chicken, etc.).
▪️Fish and seafood are allowed.
