Caraga State University, through the Office of Gender and Development, pushes gender-based initiatives to a higher level through its GADkilos: Mobilizing Volunteers for Gender Advocacy and Action activity for GAD student volunteers. Held at the Administration Building's Conference Hall on August 20, 2026, the orientation was conducted for students who will be champions of gender equality and safe spaces, as well as agents of change within their respective spaces and colleges.

Caraga State University (CSU) formally turned over two major research and development (R&D) projects to the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) during the three-day project close-up held on August 17–19, 2026, at the Grand Palace Hotel in Butuan City.

Caraga State University (CSU), through its Office of Student Internship Program (OSIP), formalized its partnership with Caraga Carbon Development Inc. (CCDI) during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony held at the OP Conference Room on August 18, 2026.

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: Face-to-face classes will RESUME tomorrow, August 19, 2026, for both campuses of the university. OP Memorandum Order No. 269, s. 2026 is released today following the announcements of the City Governments of Butuan and Cabadbaran and after careful consideration of the appropriate learning arrangements available at the university.

The Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus likewise has the discretion to determine the appropriate learning modality for its Golden Paddlers at the Laboratory High School, in accordance with the advisories issued by the aforementioned government units. Please read the full details of the Memorandum cascaded through the university’s official communication channels.

As we go back to the university, we remind our Golden Paddlers to stay cool and hydrated to avoid heat-related risks. Further, the University Clinic is open for any concerns or reports of students experiencing heat-related illnesses.

Together, let us ensure that our campus is comfortable and conducive to learning amidst this extreme weather.

𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: Work and classes at both campuses of the university will be SUSPENDED on Friday, August 21, 2026, for the commemoration of the death anniversary of Former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Simeón Aquino, Jr., per OP Memorandum No. 266, s. 2026 and Proclamation No. 1006. With this, university operations will run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for this week, excluding classes and teaching personnel with fixed schedules.

The Ninoy Aquino Day reminds us Filipinos of the importance of our truth, patriotism, and democracy. Let this courageous belief and sacrifice remind us once again of our enduring impetus to strive for a better Philippines.

Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, the Vice President for Executive Operations at Caraga State University (CSU), has been officially conferred the 2026 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Geodetic Engineering by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the highest and most coveted honor bestowed by the PRC upon a registered professional. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary integrity, professional competence, and significant contributions to the advancement of their respective disciplines.

Dr. Japitana’s recognition showcases her distinguished career, technical expertise, and pioneering leadership in geodetic engineering, academic administration, and regional development initiatives within the Caraga region and beyond. An alumna of CSU, formerly the Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology (NORMISIST), Dr. Japitana has dedicated more than twenty years of service to the university.

The formal conferment shall be held in September.

Caraga State University congratulates Dr. Japitana for her commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and national leadership in engineering and technology.

This decision is made to ensure that all students can participate in the activity under safe and comfortable conditions. Virtual attendance is still MANDATORY, and proper online etiquette is strictly encouraged.
