🌡️ HEAT HEALTH ADVISORY 🌡️

With rising temperatures, everyone is advised to take precautions to prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

☀️ Avoid prolonged sun exposure between 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, when heat index is at its highest and most dangerous.

💧 Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water throughout the day—even if you are not thirsty. Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic drinks.

🧢 Protect yourself:
• Wear light, breathable clothing
• Use umbrellas, hats, or seek shade
• Limit outdoor activities during peak hours

⚠️ Know the signs:

Heat Exhaustion:
• Heavy sweating
• Weakness or dizziness
• Nausea or headache

👉 First Aid:
✔ Move to a cool place
✔ Drink water
✔ Apply cool compress

Heat Stroke (Medical Emergency):
• Very high body temperature
• Confusion or unconsciousness
• Hot, dry skin (or minimal sweating)

🚨 First Aid:
✔ Call for medical help immediately
✔ Move to a cool area
✔ Cool the body (wet cloth, fan, ice packs)

📢 Clinic Advisory: Temporary Operating Hours

Please be informed that the University Clinic will be open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Thursday.

The clinic will remain open during the 12:00 NN hour; however, only emergency cases will be attended during this time.

Regular services will resume immediately after.

Everyone is advised to be guided accordingly. Thank you.

As we celebrate women, we also encourage everyone to prioritize women’s health and well-being. Regular health check-ups, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, managing stress, and seeking timely medical care are essential steps in ensuring a healthier future.

📢 Dengue Awareness Advisory

The DOrSU University Clinic would like to inform the university community that three (3) dengue cases among students were recorded in the past two (2) weeks. Most of the students diagnosed with dengue reside in the Martinez Subdivision area. No new dengue cases have been recorded at the University Clinic this week so far.

Nevertheless, everyone is advised to remain vigilant and continue practicing mosquito bite prevention to help reduce the risk of dengue transmission.

⚠️ Common signs and symptoms of dengue include:
• High fever
• Severe headache
• Joint and muscle pain
• Nausea and vomiting
• Skin rash
• Fatigue

❗If fever persists for two (2) days, early consultation is strongly advised.

Students experiencing symptoms may seek consultation at the DOrSU University Clinic or proceed to the City Health Office / DOPMC for proper medical evaluation and management.

🦟 Prevent mosquito bites by:
• Using insect repellent
• Wearing long sleeves and pants when possible
• Eliminating stagnant water in your surroundings
• Keeping living and study areas clean

The DOrSU University Clinic encourages everyone to remain proactive in protecting themselves and the university community from dengue.

Extension of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Assessment

To all students aged 20 years old and above:

Please be informed that the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Assessment has been extended until November 29, 2025.

The assessment will temporarily be conducted in front of the AB Building (right side) during clinic hours.

We encourage all qualified students who have not yet undergone the assessment to participate. Early detection and prevention are key to maintaining good health!

The DOrSU-OHS, in collaboration with CADAC Mati and the City Health Office, successfully conducted a symposium on September 12, 2025, highlighting the importance of a drug-free and smoke-free community.
