Shaping Future Leaders: Maseil-seil Alo-o High School Students Take a Stand for Integrity at Leadership Training

On March 20, 2025: Maseil-seil Alo-o National High School participated in the Leadership Training for Campus Integrity Crusaders (TLC) held at Repurto’s Resort in Binalonan, Pangasinan. The training was a joint initiative of the Office of the Ombudsman and the School’s Division Offices of Pangasinan, such as Alaminos City, Urdaneta City, and Pangasinan II. The training aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster integrity and combat corruption within their school communities. Maseil Seil Alo-o National High School was represented by four Campus Integrity Crusader (CIC) officers: Junior High School - Desiree Andrea E. Manangan and Lyca Mae Manaog, and Senior High School - Mark Ezra and Nica Valdrez; and their advisers, Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo - Junior High School and Ma’am Cath - Senior High School.

The training featured three expert speakers who guided participants through various leadership modules. Ester F. Fornal, Christopher Lilito Bacungan, and Dr. Racquel Rosario Cunanan-Marayag shared their insights on self-awareness, the importance of integrity, and how to recognize and address corruption. The purpose of the modules, specifically a discussion on self-awareness and awareness in corruption, was to excite the students to be proactive in their role as leaders in their schools. Those discussions led nicely into activities that were fun in nature, but further reinforced the key principles established throughout the day.

The event not only created practical learning opportunities but also collaboration among the different schools participating in the event. Students from the different divisions had the chance to share ideas and make connections that would foster their collective purpose around upholding integrity. Special thanks were given to Dr. George Marvin B Indon, our Principal IV, Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo and Ma’am Catherine Marcadejas, the JHS-CIC and SHS-CIC advisers, for their ongoing guidance and direction in making the training a success. This training on leading and integrity was a positive step for developing the next generation of leaders who will uphold integrity and stand against corruption in their schools and communities.

Kusina ng KaKAMPI: Serving Hope and Hunger Relief to Maseil-Seil Alo-o National High School Students

Held on March 5, 2025, the CIC-Junior High School successfully conducted "Kusina ng KaKAMPI: Feeding Program as Part of Social Responsibility," continuing its mission to provide warmth and nourishment to students in need. This time, we also aligned the initiative with the celebration of Women’s Month, recognizing the essential role women play in fostering kindness and social responsibility. By highlighting values such as care, generosity, and service, qualities women have long exemplified in shaping and uplifting communities, we made this program even more meaningful.

We served lugaw, an affordable yet nutritious meal, to support students who may struggle to afford food or snacks at school. As students ourselves, we understand these challenges, which is why we implemented a program that benefits everyone, especially those in need. Kusina ng KaKAMPI was not just about providing food. It was about fostering a sense of community and care, particularly for the students of Maseil-Seil Alo-o National High School. Seeing their smiles as we handed them food and knowing we made a difference, even in the smallest way, made this project truly fulfilling.

Of course, this program would not have been possible without the dedication of our Junior High School CIC Adviser Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo and the unwavering support of our school principal Dr. George Marvin B. Indon, Principal IV. We are also grateful to our hardworking CIC officers, who ensured that everything went smoothly, and to the generous donors who selflessly contributed their time, resources, and effort to make Kusina ng KaKAMPI a success. Your kindness and generosity inspire us, especially as we honor the contributions of women in society this month and beyond. Knowing that we have once again made a positive impact motivates us to keep pushing forward. We are proud to be part of something bigger than ourselves and look forward to more opportunities to help and make a difference.

Kusina ng kaKAMPI: Serving Hope and Hunger Relief to Maseil Seil Alo-o National High School Students

February 14, 2025: The CIC-Junior High School's second project, entitled "Kusina ng kaKAMPI: Feeding Program as part of Social Responsibility" was implemented in Maseil-seil Alo-o National High School. The activity was centered on feeding hungry learners and for this case, sharing arroz caldo with malunggay leaves as a nutritional and affordable food source for the students. The CIC-Junior High School adviser , Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo and the CIC officers planned to have the activity go smoothly so that students from Maseil Seil Alo-o National High School were provided with the proper support.

The primary aim of the "Kusina ng kaKAMPI" project is to provide junior high school students who would otherwise not be able to afford to spend money on their own food or snacks at school. The project was meant to give these students a filling and cheap alternative in the form of arroz caldo with malunggay leaveswith the hope of warding off hunger while imparting to them a sense of community and concern. It was also a reminder of the value of sharing and assisting others in times of need.

We would want to extend our sincerest gratitude to our school principal, Dr. George Marvin B. Indon, Principal IV, for his unwavering support and facilitation of this project. We thank the CIC adviser, Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo and CIC officers for their expertise and passion in making this project a reality. A big thanks to all those donors who were willing to sacrifice their time, money, and effort just to make "Kusina ng kaKAMPI" succeed. Your kindness and philanthropy have made a significant impact on the lives of these students.

Salita at Guhit: Celebrating Integrity Through Art and Expression

On January 31-February 7, 2025: The "Promoting Integrity: Salita at Guhit sa Pagtataguyod ng Integridad" CIC's first project engaged Junior High School students from Grades 7 to 10 at Maseil-seil Alo-o National High School in a series of creative activities focused on the theme of integrity. During the students' Independent / Collaborative Learning (ICL) time in Araling Panlipunan, students shared their artistic abilities to create posters, slogans, and perform spoken poetry to express their individual meanings related to integrity while demonstrating their artistic abilities.

This project successfully combined creativity with the promotion of values, fostering critical thinking among the students. In visual and poetic forms, students displayed and shared what integrity means to them, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the value of integrity in their lives and communities. The different forms of expression provided an impressive and unique opportunities for students to interact and creatively work with integrity in their own individual, personal, and meaningful ways.

Special thanks were given to our CIC officers, and an extra special thank you to Sir Rey Aurelio Alejo the CIC adviser. The project provided not only an opportunity for expression but a wider conversation and participation of integrity in the school community.
