Reading Month Celebration 2025

The celebration of the 2025 Reading Month with the theme “Reading: A Gateway to Discovery” became a meaningful opportunity for students and teachers to highlight the importance of reading in developing knowledge, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning. On November 21, 2025, the Spelling Quiz Bee was conducted at the Grade 10–Agila’s classroom, marking the beginning of the week-long activities dedicated to promoting reading and comprehension skills. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as selected students from different grade levels gathered to showcase their spelling abilities. Mr. Domingo C. Relevo Jr. served as the Quiz Master, delivering each word with clarity and fairness. Supporting him were Mr. April Ramos and Mrs. Karen Allado, both Language Teachers, who facilitated the flow of the contest and ensured that all guidelines were properly followed.

Serving an equally important role were Ms. Hannah Sheen Abiad, Mrs. Manilyn Bautista, and Mrs. Jessica May Morcoso, who acted as Scorers. They carefully checked the answers of each participant and announced whether the responses were correct or not. The participants of the Quiz Bee were:
Fiona D. Ballelos
Rommel Benedict B. Jamon
Nigel Joseph B. Bambao
Stefhany D. Salazar
Cyril Anne E. Manguerra
Arvin Angelo C. Grisola
Trisha G. Munar
Kurt Daniel S. Delos Reyes
Gian Robert P. Alinio
Paul Andrei D. Pedraza
Wayne F. Torres
Jillian E. Maguddayao.

Each participant showcased commendable effort, demonstrating their vocabulary mastery and mental readiness.

After several challenging rounds, the results were finalized. Arvin Angelo C. Grisola emerged as the 1st Place winner, displaying outstanding accuracy and confidence. Jillian Maguddayao secured the 2nd Place, while both Trisha Munar and Wayne Torres tied for 3rd Place, earning recognition for their impressive performance. Their awarding was scheduled for the Culminating Day on November 27, 2025, along with other reading-related contests held earlier.

On the same day, November 21, 2025, another anticipated contest, the Poster-Making Competition was conducted. This activity allowed students to express the reading theme through creativity and visual interpretation.
The winners were as follows:
Grade 10–Lawin claimed 1st Place through the collaborative work of Fidel Gamez, Emerson Bayaborda, and Jhiliane Guevarra.

Grade 9–Rizal earned 2nd Place with the artistic efforts of Gian Carlo Cajeda, Lhiah De Ocampo, and Ma. Edrine Bautista.

Meanwhile, Grade 8–Narra secured 3rd Place, represented by the remarkable creations of Jesril Faith Bathan, Charmelle De Gala, and France Yvonne Sanchez.

The awarding for this contest was likewise scheduled for the Culminating Day.

The highlight of the Reading Month Celebration took place on November 27, 2025, through the Culminating Activity featuring Storytelling and a Book Character Parade. Students and teachers enthusiastically arrived in costumes representing their favorite book characters, turning the school grounds into a colorful world of fictional heroes, magical beings, and iconic literary figures.

The program officially began with the Opening Remarks of Mrs. Karen Allado, the Reading Coordinator. In her message, she emphasized that reading should not only be an academic requirement but also a joyful and meaningful habit. She reminded everyone that reading enhances imagination, strengthens comprehension, and broadens one’s understanding of the world. She also added that students who read regularly develop critical thinking skills, improved communication abilities, and a greater sense of empathy.

After the opening program, the Storytelling Competition followed. Each participant delivered a performance filled with emotion, creativity, and confidence. Arushka Kell Bulan of Grade 10–Agila earned 1st Place for her captivating storytelling presence. Princess Sofia Guevarra secured 2nd Place, while Josh Raven Comia claimed 3rd Place, both delivering commendable interpretations of their chosen stories.

The awarding ceremonies for the Spelling Quiz Bee and Poster-Making Contest were held immediately afterward. In recognition of their efforts, all participants received Certificates of Participation, honoring their dedication and contribution to the celebration. The event continued with the much-awaited Book Character Portrayal, where students confidently presented their characters to the audience. Special awards were given to the following:
•Best Costume – Altheo Tisoy and Zyrelle Vien Delos Reyes

•Best in Costume – Blue Jandrei Paulino and France Yvonne Sanchez

•Best in Introduction – Josh Raven Comia and Christine Angel De Padua

•Best Character Portrayal – Bernald Bayaborda and Lhiah De Ocampo

These awards highlighted the students’ creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm in bringing their chosen book characters to life. The entire program reflected the strong commitment of the school to nurture a reading culture that celebrates imagination, discovery, and lifelong learning.

The Culminating Activity ended with an inspiring message from Mrs. Karen Allado, who reminded everyone that reading is not merely a school task but a lifelong journey. She encouraged the students to continue exploring new stories, new knowledge, and new perspectives through books. She concluded by saying that “Reading opens endless doors. Every page you turn leads you to a new discovery waiting to be explored.”
