𝐔𝐒𝐋𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐒𝐏 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, in collaboration with the Mathematical Society of the Philippines - CAR, Regions I & II Chapter, successfully hosted the Engineering Sciences and Mathematics Research Congress on November 20–21, 2025.

The said virtual event, organized for two days by the Center for Engineering Research and Technology Innovation (CERTI) under the University Research and Innovation Office (URIO), together with the College Mathematics Department of the University, brought educators, researchers, professionals, and students together to share innovative studies and discuss the emerging developments in engineering and mathematics.

The congress opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, Senior Director of URIO, followed by a message from Asst. Prof. Sherelle Lou S. Icutan, President of MSP - CAR, Regions I and II Chapter. Their messages underscored the importance of strengthening the research culture and fostering collaboration across institutions and disciplines.

The keynote address, “The Future of Mathematics and Engineering Research in the Philippines,” was delivered by Prof. Aurelio A. Delos Reyes V, Dr. rer. nat., professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman and MSP National Board Member. His talk emphasized the changing relevance of mathematical and engineering research in framing national development and technological advancement. The participants also gathered ideas from two plenary sessions. Dr. Julius Fergy T. Rabago, a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Kanazawa University, Japan, discussed new areas and emerging opportunities in research. On the second day, Dr. Mary Jane C. Calagui, ASEAN Engineer and Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at Cagayan State University, discussed research as a key driver of sustainable development and technological innovation.

The congress featured presentations from researchers in both professional and student categories, serving as an avenue for knowledge sharing, scholarly dialogue, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During the closing ceremony, Engr. Reden Elchico Nolasco, MST, Head of CERTI, expressed appreciation to the participants, evaluators, and organizers for making the event a success. The congress concluded with the Awarding of certificates to the Best Paper and Best Presenter awardees.

The 2025 Research Congress highlights the collective commitment of USLT, MSP, CERTI, URIO, and the College Mathematics Department of USLT to foster a thriving research culture and empower future innovators in engineering and mathematics.
