The FIRST-EVER Oath Taking Ceremony of the Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners, Phils., Inc. (ARCPP) Region 02 Chapter, held on February 20, 2026 at Athena Hotel, marked a historic milestone as the chapter was formally recognized and officially established.

The ARCPP Region II Chapter is now officially recognized, marking a new chapter of leadership, unity, and professional excellence in respiratory care.

Our oath was administered by Mr. Cesar Bugaoisan Jr., JIL, CBI, BIRP, DIPPM, ARCPP National President, together with Ma. Nancy T. Martinez, RTRP, MPH Executive Secretary of the ARCPP National — a moment that affirmed our commitment to serve, lead, and uphold the standards of our profession.

LOOK || A wave of pride filled the streets as Cagayan State University (CSU) honored Batch Hiralaya for its outstanding performance in the February 2026 Respiratory Therapists Licensure Examination, producing 131 passers, 18 of whom placed in the national top ranks, and achieving a 100% passing rate. The topnotchers were awarded ₱520,000.00 in cash incentives in recognition of their exceptional achievement.

Since 2015, the College of Allied Health Sciences - Bachelor of Respiratory Therapy program has produced 95 national topnotchers, and an unprecedented eight-year streak as the country’s Top 1 Performing School in Respiratory Therapy.

|| CSU Welcomes Kosin University Delegates, Revives Academic Collaboration

Cagayan State University formally welcomed the delegation from Kosin University Gospel Hospital and Kosin University for a cultural immersion and academic engagement activity signifying the revival of a previously established academic partnership.

The collaboration was originally initiated during the term of former CSU President Dr. Roger Perez and enabled faculty and student exchanges between the two institutions. After several years of inactivity, renewed communication was made possible through the continued engagement of Asst. Professor Cindy Lacuesta, a Kosin alumna, whose connection helped reopen dialogue. Following an official invitation from the Office of the University President, Kosin University positively responded, leading to the present visit.

The delegation was led by Dr. Oak Chul Ho, Vice Director of the Research Division, Department of Internal Medicine of Kosin University Gospel Hospital and Professor at Kosin University. Dr. Ho delivered a lecture on “Future Medicine Using Artificial Intelligence” to faculty and students of the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) and the College of Medicine, underscoring emerging innovations in AI-driven healthcare. He also conveyed his interest in pursuing collaborative medical initiatives with CSU, particularly in extending AI-based technologies developed by his team to benefit community healthcare systems.

The academic session was followed by cultural performances by Kosin University students and CSU’s Athena Performing Arts Bureau, reflecting renewed friendship and institutional ties. CAHS students presented tokens of appreciation to the visiting delegation.

The Office of the Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization acknowledged Dr. Lacuesta’s role in reconnecting the two institutions and reiterated its commitment to fully revitalizing and expanding collaborative internationalization initiatives. A formal meeting with Kosin University officials is being arranged to identify priority areas for cooperation.

The event was successfully hosted by the College of Allied Health Sciences led by Dean Nikko Pacquing and supported by CSU Andrews Campus under the direction and guidance of the OVPIPRM. Officer-in-Charge President Arthur Ibanez conveyed his warm greetings and affirmed the University’s full support for the renewed partnership with Kosin University.

Nine students were deployed at EAMC, and they are proud to be the 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐒𝐍𝐃 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, and their hospital internship at 𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐂 will always be one of the most transformative seasons of their journey as 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭-𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬.

They stepped into 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘼𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙚 carrying 𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙨, wondering if they were truly ready for clinical assessments, therapeutic diet modifications, enteral nutrition management, ward rounds, case presentations, menu planning, food costing, production and personnel management, and the fast-paced reality of a public hospital. There were moments of doubt, overwhelming duties, and humbling mistakes — but those same moments built their 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧.

Within 𝙀𝘼𝙈𝘾, they witnessed 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢. They saw how patient care is holistic — never just about numbers, but about dignity, empathy, and empowerment. They learned to 𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙩, 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. In a government hospital setting, they saw firsthand how vital these institutions are in delivering accessible and comprehensive care — true pillars in achieving quality healthcare for all.
What felt like a short internship became 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 of their journey as 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩-𝘿𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨. 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘼𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙚 did not just train them — 𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢.

It utilizes citation data for the past five years as well as the h-index and the i10-index data. Institutions worldwide welcome its transparent methodology to monitor performance, and receive feedback on research productivity as a guide for institutional planning.

With these latest developments, the College of Allied Health Sciences joins Cagayan State University in its manifold objective of enhancing research productivity across all campuses.

We are proud to announce that 10 Public Health graduates successfully passed the National Assessment in Caregiving (Elderly) NCII this Saturday in Santo Tomas, Isabela.

This achievement reflects their hardwork and dedication to serving the community. Guided and trained by Prof. Rizalyn Joy Besa, these newly certified caregivers are now prepared to serve with compassion, skill, and purpose in the communities they will reach.
