The sorting of more than 30,000 copies of Supplementary Learning Resources (SLRs) commenced on June 17, 2025, at the Division Library Hub at Tuguegarao North Central School and will continue until June 20, in preparation for their distribution to public elementary and secondary schools in the division.
The activity is part of Project Kuha (Pick-Up) Bin, an initiative of the Curriculum Implementation Division โ Learning Resource Management Section (CID-LRMS), which promotes the quarterly rotation of categorized learning resources stored in plastic bins. These resources will be borrowed by schools and returned or replaced at the end of each quarter.
The SLRs are classified into General References, Fiction Books, and Learning Area References, allowing schools to access a diverse selection of materials to support both instructional and independent learning needs.
โWe hope that schools will maximize these resources not just for classroom instruction but also to strengthen their reading programs,โ said Mara Karla S. Macalan, Education Program Supervisor, LRMS.
Participating in the ongoing sorting activity are Division PDO II Krysta Lynne I. Fuertes, Division Librarian II Maria Theresa B. Molina, and school-based PDOs John Rico C. Toribio (Atulayan ES), Ma. Claudia G. Aquino (Balzain East ES), and Brainer M. Matammu (Cataggaman ES).
The initiative aims to ensure that public schools in the division are equipped with accessible supplementary materials that enhance teaching and learning experiences throughout the school year.

GOAL SETTING
SDO Tuguegarao City conducts Kumustahan, strengthens LR processes
BY Krysta Lynne I. Fuertes
With the aim of streamlining and further improving its processes, the Learning Resource Management Section (LRMS) of the Schools Division of Tuguegarao City - Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) conducted its Kumustahan cm Technical Assistance Provision to School Learning Resource Quality Assurance Team (SLRQAT) at the Golden A Hotel, March 14.
The activity is part of the ongoing efforts of the LRMS to reorient schools on the development and quality assurance process and to provide necessary assistance to schools in improving their LR management.
โThis is a follow up to the reorientation we conducted to school heads last year. We hoped to see how far they have gone in cascading the information they learned from our previous activity. We have invited the vice chairpersons of the SLRQAT as our participants this time because of their capacity to further cascade information in their respective schools,โ shared Mara Karla S. Macalan, LRMS Education Program Supervisor.
To achieve this, all schools were required to present their accomplishments for the school year 2024-2025, specifically highlighting data on functionality of their SLRQAT, access to learning resources, quality assured learning resources in the school and division level, presence of learning resource plan, and implementation of best and notable practices along LR management.
Through this initiative, the LRMS was able to identify the schools needing the most support in LR management based on established indicators in the divisionโs contextualized LR monitoring and supervision tool which was also presented during the activity.
Sirib, the Division Learning Resource Handbook on Development Processes and Workflow for locally developed and contextualized LRs, was also officially launched during the Kumustahan to provide a comprehensive guide on the classification, development, and utilization of locally developed and contextualized LRs.
โThe crafting of the handbook is already our way of providing schools the needed technical assistance with its wide coverage of relevant learning resources that are usually developed. It already includes necessary information on the LR process such as guidelines in the development and quality assurance, the evaluation tools needed, as well as the templates to be used,โ Macalan further assured.
To support the launching of the said handbook, Schools Division Superintendent Gilbert N. Tong and the CID Chief Estela S. Cabaro were also present during the activity.
