OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Thank you po for raising this concern. We sincerely appreciate the questions and concerns raised regarding the eligibility of beneficiaries, as these give us an opportunity to clarify the process and ensure transparency in the implementation of the program.
As the Head Committee on Education, I would like to clarify that the inclusion of beneficiaries was based on the qualifications and requirements set for the program, and not on their position within the SK.
For transparency, there were only three current SK officials who qualified as beneficiaries: the SK Chairman and one SK Kagawad who are both board passers, and the SK Secretary who is a 4th-year college student. They were included based on their respective qualifications under the program.
As the Head Committee on Education, I personally oversaw the implementation of the program and ensured that the qualifications and requirements were considered in the validation of the beneficiaries. I also did not benefit from the program and was not involved in the payout.
Nevertheless, in the interest of transparency and to avoid any possible conflict of interest or perception thereof, we have decided to remove the names of the current SK officials from the list of beneficiaries.
This is not an admission of wrongdoing, but a step we believe is appropriate to avoid any possible perception of conflict of interest and to maintain fairness, transparency, and public trust in the program.
We hope this clarifies the matter. Our intention has always been to implement the program fairly and ensure that the assistance reaches qualified beneficiaries. Thank you po for giving us the opportunity to clarify this concern. 🙏
Respectfully,
ANGELICA D. BANGAYAN
