To help end the stigma of labeling women and to strengthen advocacy for womenโs empowerment, San Isidro National High School joined the celebration of National Womenโs Month on March 16, 2026. This yearโs theme, โWE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,โ with the subtheme โLead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!โ inspired the school community to honor the strength, leadership, and resilience of Filipino women.
Students, faculty, and staff actively participated in the celebration and engaged in a series of presentations that honored remarkable women in society and their significant contributions, highlighting the strength that women possess.
The Grade 7 students set the tone with their energetic performance of Zumbabae. Grade 10 students awakened a sense of pride by showcasing notable women in Philippine history. Meanwhile, Grade 12 students captured hearts and stirred emotions through powerful performances that depicted womenโs strength in overcoming lifeโs challenges, especially those who have experienced abuse.
Adding depth and meaning to the event were the inspiring words of one of SINHSโs empowered โJuanas,โ Catherine A. Dumalagan, who shared her story of endurance, sacrifice, and courage in various rolesโas a wife, mother, and teacher.
To honor the sacrifices and strength of every female teacher, the male faculty members rendered a heartfelt tribute song that evoked nostalgia and celebrated the innate resilience of women.
Overall, the celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the vital role women play in shaping society. It reinforced the importance of promoting gender equality, recognizing womenโs contributions, and empowering every individual to become advocates of change. Through this activity, the school community continues to uphold its commitment to fostering respect, inclusivity, and appreciation for all.
