We congratulate Robert Joshua Baes Manuel on his graduation from the Philippine Military Academy and on earning the rank of Second Lieutenant. An alumnus of Jose P. Laurel High School and a journalism standout of The Pen, Robert developed his love for writing with the encouragement of his family, guidance and training from his school paper adviser. He became a “Batang PressCon” as early as Grade 8 and served as editor-in-chief of the student publication in Grade 10, collaborating with classmates to produce campus newspapers. One unforgettable moment of Robert during his stint was interviewing Jeron Teng of the La Salle basketball team, an experience that helped the sports page of The Pen qualify for the 2018 National Schools Press Conference in Dumaguete.
