In light of recent natural events across the country, universities and colleges nationwide were required to participate in a simultaneous disaster preparedness activity, which was joined by Partido State University โ Tinambac Campus.
A Disaster Risk Reduction Seminar and the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill were conducted at the ParSU-CESD Campus on the afternoon of November 6, 2025. The activity is just one of the proactive approaches imposed by the institution to promote awareness and strengthen the readiness of the student body and employees during disasters, particularly in times of unpredictable earthquakes in campus settings.
Engr. Wilma C. De Los Santos, MSDRRM, was the resource speaker, who also assessed the campusโs level of earthquake preparedness. All students, faculty members, and staff present on campus took part in both the lecture and the earthquake drill. Important safety procedures to follow during an earthquake were properly demonstrated and carried out with organized coordination among committee members and assigned responders.
CESD received a positive rating in the final evaluation of the drill, with only a few areas identified for improvement.
The seminar and drill were organized by Ms. Haiqa Shadel A. Paclibar, with assistance from the Campus Nurse, Mr. Ervin Bryan G. Gallarte, RN, who ensured the smooth flow of the event.
