Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) celebrates the participation of its Academic Dean, Dr. Marie Joy Pring-Faraz, in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Mission Alliance Norway, where she shared as a practical theologian and research practitioner working on issues related to Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).

Her participation reflects APNTS’s broader commitment to developing scholars, educators, ministers, and researchers who are actively engaged in the pressing concerns of church and society. As a globally engaged seminary, APNTS continues to encourage scholarship that connects theological reflection with public life, social realities, justice, community transformation, and the protection of vulnerable populations.

This engagement also highlights APNTS’s growing contribution to international conversations in theology, transformational development, safeguarding, and public ethics through faculty research, publications, partnerships, and global collaborations.

APNTS remains committed to theological education that is academically rigorous, contextually grounded, and socially responsive—forming leaders who are prepared to serve both the church and the wider world.

Back-to-Back Paper Selections for International Conferences

Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) rejoices with Dr. Marie Joy Pring-Faraz, Academic Dean and Program Director for Transformational Development, on the selection of her two papers for international conferences at Calvin University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2023, Dr. Joy served as an International Research Scholar at the Nagel Institute for the Study of World Christianity at Calvin.

Her paper, “Emmaus in Exile: Trauma Accompaniment and Meaning-Making in Christian Higher Education,” has been selected for the 2026 Kuyers/INCHE/de Vries Conference, while “Beyond Intelligence: Recovering Wisdom in Christian Higher Education in the Age of AI” has been selected for the 2026 “Wisdom in the Age of AI” Conference (Education Track).

Emerging from the lived experience of the APNTS community, these studies reflect ongoing reflection on pedagogy and spiritual formation in complex and rapidly changing contexts. Together, these works engage pressing questions in theological education today—how formation takes place amid trauma, displacement, and geopolitical conflict, and how Christian higher education can recover wisdom in an age increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

These recognitions underscore APNTS’s growing voice in global theological education, shaping scholarship that is both academically rigorous and deeply engaged with the lived realities of communities across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

We thank God for these opportunities and pray for continued impact as Dr. Pring-Faraz contributes to global conversations in Christian higher education.
