Beneath the Rain, the Spirit of Kapit-Bisig Shines
Despite the gloomy skies and persistent rains, the spirit of commitment and optimism among the Laurelians remained bright as the Paaralang Elementarya ng Laurel conducted its 4th Online Staff Meeting on August 18, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 in the morning.
More than a regular staff meeting, the gathering became an avenue for connection, reflection, planning, and renewed commitment to education. Anchored on the schoolโs mantra, โKapit-Bisig,โ the meeting highlighted how teachers continue to stand together despite the challenges brought by the weather and the many responsibilities they carry.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the โWeather Check-Inโ Kamustahan Session, where teachers described their current mood and condition through different weather symbols. Some identified themselves as sunny and energized, while others chose rainy, cloudy, or even thunderstorm to express fatigue, challenges, and the many tasks they were facing. Yet, beneath the different โweather conditionsโ was one common outlookโthe teachers remained positive, resilient, and committed to their work.
The session also provided the school leadership with an opportunity to know the current status of the teachersโnot only in terms of their tasks but also their well-being. The simple question, โKumusta ka?โ, opened a space where teachers could share, listen, and support one another.
As the school continues to prepare for various academic and co-curricular activities, the meeting also tackled preparations for the upcoming Festival of Talents, Campus Journalism, and Sports Competition. The discussions emphasized the importance of teamwork, preparation, and maximizing the strengths and talents of every learner.
Technical assistance was likewise provided by the School Head concerning the upcoming Term Examination, particularly on assessment preparation and strategies for further improving learning outcomes. The discussion underscored the need to remain focused on learner achievement while ensuring that instructional efforts respond to the actual needs of the pupils.
Another important agenda was the revisiting of the schoolโs SIP Projects. Teachers reviewed the current status of various projects and discussed possible future plans to ensure that these initiatives remain relevant, responsive, and beneficial to the learners and the school community.
Throughout the meeting, the value of inclusivity was repeatedly emphasized. In every activity, program, and decision, every learner and every member of the school community must be given an opportunity to participate and contribute.
โLahat kasali, kasali lahat.โ
As rain continues to fall outside the virtual meeting rooms, the Laurelians continue to move forward. The weather may bring challenges, and school responsibilities may continue to multiply, but the spirit of Kapit-Bisig remains stronger.
For the Laurelians, the rain may slow the day, but it will never stop the journey of learning.๐
