Tarlac State University strengthened its standing in the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) after climbing to the 191st spot in the Global Top 500 Innovative Universities from its previous 256th rank.
Based on the official category results released by WURI, several university initiatives earned recognition across different innovation categories.
Among the universityโs recognized entries is the โ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต (๐๐๐ฅ๐) ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐโ under the category C2 - Interdisciplinary, Convergent, and Integrated Research, where TSU placed 36th globally. Implemented by the Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development (CCLGSPD), the program provides multidisciplinary support to LGUs in strengthening child protection mechanisms through research, policy development, legal assistance, psychological support, and capacity-building initiatives.
TSU also secured the 56th rank in the category A1 - Student Support and Engagement through the โ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐: ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ & ๐๐ป๐ผ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐น๐-๐๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐โ program of the Office of Student Affairs and Services - International, Differently-Abled, Indigenous, and Marginalized Student Services (IDIMSS). The initiative established a student-led academic hub that offers free printing services, computer access, internet connectivity, and disability rights awareness activities for differently-abled students.
TSU also earned the 64th global rank in the category C3 - Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness through ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐จ๐ ๐ฎ.๐ฌ (๐๐ถ๐ณ๐, ๐จ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐, ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ, ๐จ๐ป๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ, ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐) of the Office of Graduate Studies and the College of Education. Implemented in partnership with the Tarlac South A District schools, the initiative focuses on strengthening teachersโ professional development through training workshops, mentoring programs, leadership development, action research, and the integration of 21st-century learning approaches to improve classroom instruction and educational outcomes.
Meanwhile, the university ranked 79th worldwide in C6 - Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved through the โ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐น๐๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐๐ธ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป (๐๐๐): ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ ๐ง๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ปโ program of the College of Public Administration and Governance (CPAG). The initiative provides incarcerated women at the BJMP Tarlac City Jail Female Dormitory access to higher education through the Bachelor of Public Administration program as part of rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.
The official results of WURI 2026 were announced during the 6th Hanseatic League of Universities Conference held at National Chi Nan University from May 6 to 8. The detailed category rankings and corresponding innovative programs were formally communicated to participating universities by the WURI Secretariat on May 11, 2026.
The Office of Quality Assurance congratulates the colleges, offices, centers, and units whose innovative programs earned recognition in WURI 2026 and likewise acknowledges all university units that participated in this yearโs submissions.

Tarlac State University climbs to the 191st place in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 Global Top 500 Innovative Universities besting its previous rank of 256 in the Global Top 400.
Among the twenty-four categories evaluated, TSU secured Global Top 100 in four key areas.
The highest ranking achievement was in the Interdisciplinary, Convergent, and Integrated Research, where the university placed in the 36th spot. Additionally, TSU showcased its commitment to holistic education and social impact, ranking 56th in Student Support and Engagement, 64th in Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness, and 79th in Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved.
The official results of the WURI Ranking 2026 have been released during the 6th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) conference, currently being held in National Chi-Nan University in Taiwan.
Further details regarding the specific innovative programs and their corresponding category rankings will be officially communicated by the WURI Secretariat via formal email.

The TSU Office of Quality Assurance (OQA) warmly welcomes Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza as the 7th President of Tarlac State University.
Dr. Mendoza officially took his oath on May 5, 2026, at the Commission on Higher Education. Prior to his appointment as university president, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College of Education, where he supported various quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives of the university.
As TSU moves forward under his leadership, the OQA remains committed to working alongside the administration in strengthening quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the universityโs pursuit of academic excellence.
The OQA extends its best wishes to President Mendoza as he begins his term in service to the TSU community.

Tarlac State University and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines Inc. (AACCUP) formally opened the online program accreditation for Level IV survey visit for the College of Criminal Justice Educationโs Bachelor of Science in Criminology and the College of Education's Bachelor of Physical Education on Wednesday (April 15) morning via Zoom.
โThis program will allow us to appreciate your accomplishments, identify best practices, and provide recommendations that will support your continued growth,โ Dr. Ronnie Parica from the University of Rizal Systems and the AACCUP coordinator said when he discussed the purpose and procedures of the accreditation.

The online program accreditation 4th survey visit for the three programs under the College of Arts and Social Sciences and the College of Business and Accountancy formally commenced today (March 4), via Zoom.
The programs Bachelor of Arts in Communication under CASS and the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS) and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) under CBA are currently undergoing evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.
The evaluation covers key areas, including research, graduates' performance, community service, international linkages and consortia, and the planning process.
During the discussion of accreditation procedures, AACCUP Overall Coordinator Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido said the survey visit aims to provide valuable insights to 'help strengthen TSU's planning processes and ensure that it remains forward-looking, efficient, and responsive to 21st-century demands.'
"This visit marks a step forward, reaffirming TSU's commitment to quality education, innovation, and societal contribution," he added.
Meanwhile, Office of Quality Assurance Director Dr. Nino B. Corpuz shared that the BSAIS and BSHM programs, formerly Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, were granted approval for the change in nomenclature and the carryover of accreditation status in October 2022.
He further noted that in May 2023, the Commission on Higher Education Region III approved that the two programs remain covered by the same Certificate of Program Compliance under their previous program titles, without undergoing the Regional Quality Assessment Team evaluation.
The online survey visit will run until Friday (March 6).

Tarlac State Universityโs Bachelor of Science in Food Technology is set to receive its Certificate of Compliance from the Professional Regulation Commission after the evaluation held last January 28, 2026 at the Center for Food Technology and Research, Lucinda Campus.
The program passed the on-site inspection/monitoring and has met the standards set by the Professional Regulatory Board of Food Technology in January 2024, as evaluated by PRB members Hon. Remedios V. Baclig and Hon. Mary Grace R. Mandigma, alongside Professional Regulations Officer Ms. Ivy N. Dionisio.
BSFT Chairperson Asst. Prof. Mary Katherine Apolonio led the presentation of milestones and compliance achievements, which include the procurement of specialized equipment for their physicochemical, microbiology, and sensory laboratories; acquisition of a License to Operate from the Food and Drug Administration; compliance with the faculty credential requirements; and establishment of partnerships with other higher educational institutions.
