Ngayong Agosto, ating ipagdiwang ang Buwan ng Wika sa pamamagitan ng pagpapahalaga, paggamit, at pagmamalaki sa wikang Filipino. Higit pa sa isang paraan ng pakikipag-usap, ang ating wika ay sumasalamin sa ating kasaysayan, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan bilang mga Pilipino. Patuloy nating gamitin at mahalin ang ating sariling wika upang mapanatili itong buhay para sa susunod na henerasyon.

Alam mo ba na ang Buwan ng Wika ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing Agosto bilang paggunita sa kaarawan ni Manuel L. Quezon, na kinikilalang Ama ng Wikang Pambansa? Bago ito maging Buwan ng Wika, Linggo ng Wika muna ang ipinagdiriwang noong 1954, at kalaunan ay pinalawak upang maging isang buwang pagdiriwang. Isang paalala ito na ang ating wika ay mahalagang bahagi ng ating pagka-Pilipino.
