PELE is a seminar designed to prepare students for the professional world after graduation. It discusses important topics such as workplace professionalism, employee rights and labor laws, career readiness, work ethics, and creating safe and respectful workplaces. The goal is to help students become more prepared and informed before entering employment.

Please be reminded that attendance in this seminar is 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 and serves as a prerequisite for the countersigning of your clearance prior to the release of your Transcript of Records (TOR), as prescribed under Office Memo No. 1, Series of 2026.

Tarlac State University and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines Inc. (AACCUP) formally opened the online program accreditation for Level IV survey visit for the College of Criminal Justice Education’s Bachelor of Science in Criminology and the College of Education's Bachelor of Physical Education on Wednesday (April 15) morning via Zoom.

“This program will allow us to appreciate your accomplishments, identify best practices, and provide recommendations that will support your continued growth,” Dr. Ronnie Parica from the University of Rizal Systems and the AACCUP coordinator said when he discussed the purpose and procedures of the accreditation.

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the employment outcomes of the scholar graduates of Tarlac State University (TSU) from 2018-2022. It also offers a comprehensive analysis of the profiles, academic achievements, scholarship access, and board examination performance of the scholar graduates. These scholar graduates were recipients of several scholarship programs, the CHED-Tulong-Dunong Program being the most popular source of financial assistance. Of the 1,386 scholar graduates, 532 participated in the study by completing an online survey that was uploaded using Microsoft Forms. The highest number of scholar graduates came from the College of Education and the College of Business Accountancy. Out of the 347 scholar graduates who took the licensure examination, 303 passed the examination. Many of the respondents are currently employed, majority of them holding permanent positions. Other employment statuses include contractual employment, job orders, temporary employment, casual positions, and probationary roles. A small number of these scholar graduates are unemployed because of lack of work experience. The college competency that was deemed very necessary in their job was communication skills followed by critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In terms of the graduates’ reasons for accepting and staying in the job, salaries and benefits are the most significant factors for them. To enhance the degree programs, it was recommended that TSU must align its curriculum with industry standards to make the students more prepared and equipped before venturing into the labor market. A stronger partnership with local and international companies must be given full attention to improve the students’ practical and realistic skills and experience. While pointing out areas for enhancement in academic preparation, professional preparedness, and administrative procedures, respondents generally conveyed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the TSU scholarship program. TSU can use these insights to enhance its degree programs and research support systems in the future.

Abstract:

Guidelines for flexible delivery of Student Affairs and Services programs during the Coronavirus 2019 pandemic were released in 2021 by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the form of CHED Memo no. 08, series of 2021. Guided by this memorandum, the office of Student Affairs and Services (SAS) of Tarlac State University included online services to enhance the offline services of its programs. It is on this premise that the study was conducted with the purpose of determining the students’ level of awareness and satisfaction of the offline and online services offered by the different units of the office of SAS during the pandemic. The level of importance of the two modes of services was also determined. The study employed a descriptive design using an adapted and validated survey questionnaire. The 375 respondents of the study were composed of the second year to fourth year students coming from the different programs at Tarlac State University. The results of the study showed that the students were generally aware of the offline and online services and programs offered by the different units of SAS. The online services and programs that garnered the highest mean of level of awareness were the services provided by the student organization unit and the testing, monitoring and evaluation unit while the least known services were the dental services. Overall, the students were satisfied with the services and programs of SAS with the student organization receiving the highest level of satisfaction and the health services receiving the least level of satisfaction. Seven units whose services were deemed very important during the pandemic were the services offered by the scholarship and finance assistance, medical services, student discipline, services for specific students like students with disabilities and students belonging to indigenous groups, guidance and counseling services, career and job placement services and dental services. All other services were rated as important. The findings revealed that there are SAS programs and services that should be adequately disseminated to students through proper orientation of the type of support services that they can avail to help them adjust and succeed in the new learning environment. The suggestions proposed by the students to enhance the delivery of the programs of SAS may also be adapted. Guided by the results, the outcomes of this study may be used as benchmark for future research undertakings of the office of Student Affairs and Services and as a compliance report for accreditation. The instrument used may also serve as a tool for monitoring the effectiveness of SAS services and programs.
