๐๐„๐–๐’ | OVPAA permits temporary adjustment of stude uniform policy due to high heat index

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) of Tarlac State University (TSU), through Office Memorandum No. 23, s. 2026 issued today, March 30, has permitted the temporary adjustment in the prescribed student uniform policy effective starting today until the remainder of the second semester.

This comes in light of the prevalence of high heat indexes across the country, particularly in the province of Tarlac, and in consideration of the health, safety, and general well-being of students.

With the adjustment, students can wear their university, college, or duly recognized organization uniforms as an alternative uniform during this period.

โ€œThis measure aims to provide more comfortable and climate-appropriate attire, while ensuring that students remain properly identified within the University premises,โ€ the office stated.

The office, however, leaves to all colleges the discretion to decide their respective alternative uniform schedules while taking into consideration academic activities, laboratory requirements, and other relevant considerations.

Further, despite the relaxed uniform policy, students must โ€œmaintain proper grooming, modesty, and adherence to university standards of decorum at all times.โ€

Meanwhile, faculty members and concerned personnel are encouraged to extend necessary consideration in implementing the temporary adjustment.
