As we conclude this year’s 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, the Tarlac State University through its Center for Food Technology & Research (TSU-CFTR) and the Office of Innovation and Business Development (OIBD) proudly showcases a collection of nutri-dense food product innovations developed by our dedicated CFTR Staff and faculty members from the Food Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM), and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Programs.

These innovations embody our commitment to transforming research into practical food solutions that promote better nutrition, food security, and sustainable community development. From functional food products utilizing locally available agricultural resources to healthier product alternatives designed to address today’s nutritional needs, each innovation reflects the creativity, expertise, and passion of our faculty researchers.

At TSU-CFTR, we believe that food innovation goes beyond creating new products—it is about developing science-based solutions that improve lives, support local industries, and contribute to a healthier nation.

As Nutrition Month comes to a close, let us continue embracing the message that good nutrition begins with informed choices, innovation, and collaboration.

TODAY at Tarlac BizConEx 2026!

Tarlac State University proudly participated in Tarlac BizConEx 2026 through the Center for Food Technology and Research (CFTR) and the Office of Innovation and Business Development (OIBD), reaffirming its commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, strengthening the local food industry, and advancing innovation.

During the event, TSU-CFTR featured its “Food Safety and Technology Solutions: From Product Development to FDA Compliance,” introducing food business operators to a comprehensive suite of research and technical services of TSU.

To allow participants to experience these services firsthand, TSU-CFTR offered FREE consultations through the TSU-FDA HELP DESK and the FOODTECH CLINIC, both of which received overwhelming interest and engagement from food entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and aspiring business owners seeking expert guidance to improve their products and achieve regulatory compliance.

Meanwhile, through the Office of Innovation and Business Development (OIBD), Tarlac State University showcased its innovative spirit by presenting various university-developed food technologies during the Business Pitching for Innovators, highlighting research-based technologies with strong commercialization and industry adoption potential.

𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 | TechBites Program on Fortified Tofu Concludes 🚀

The two-day 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬: 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐎𝐅𝐔 successfully concluded today, April 16, 2026, at the Center for Food Technology and Research (CFTR), marking another milestone in the University’s continuing efforts to promote food innovation and community empowerment.

Implemented through the partnership of TSU-CFTR and MSWD La Paz, the program brought together members of KALIPI from La Paz, Tarlac for an intensive seminar-training focused on fortified tofu production and value-added food processing technologies.

During the training, participants were equipped with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in improved tofu processing methods, sanitation and hygienic practices, quality assurance systems, and techniques for enhancing the nutritional and sensory attributes of tofu products. The activity aimed to provide participants with competencies that may support livelihood development and entrepreneurial opportunities in their communities.

The event was also graced by the 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐉. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, who congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training course. In his message, he reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing food technology, strengthening innovation among MSMEs, community partners, and researchers, and pursuing future collaborations and technology transfer initiatives aligned with its mandate.

The Center likewise extends its sincere appreciation to all participants, resource speakers, and facilitators whose active participation, expertise, and support greatly contributed to the success of the training program.

⭕️ 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖 | CFTR Hosts TechBites Training on Fortified Tofu

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬: 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐎𝐅𝐔 is being held from April 15 to 16 at the Center for Food Technology and Research (CFTR) as a two-day seminar-training program. The activity is implemented through the partnership between TSU-CFTR and 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐌𝐒𝐖𝐃) 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 for members of 𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐈 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐳, 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐜.

The training features fortified tofu technology, which aims to improve conventional tofu by enhancing its nutritional value and sensory quality. Participants are introduced to controlled processing techniques, hygienic practices, and quality assurance measures essential in producing nutritious, high-quality, and food safety-compliant tofu products.

Through this initiative, the Center continues to advance innovation, community development, and technology transfer by equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills that support sustainable livelihood opportunities.
