The first day of 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐂𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 successfully highlighted the power of research, communication, and student excellence through the 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 held at the NMSCST Convention Hall.

The forum gathered Development Communication students, faculty members, administrators, and guests in a meaningful academic celebration that emphasized the importance of research culture, scholarly engagement, and communication-driven social transformation. Students confidently presented their studies, exchanged ideas, and showcased their dedication, passion, and hard work in the field of communication research.
Adding depth and inspiration to the event were the distinguished plenary speakers and panel members: Prof. Evans Rosaūro I. Yonson, Dr. Carousel B. Tagaylo, and Prof. Clint Joy M. Quije, who shared valuable insights on development communication, research publication, and empowering student research in communication and the social sciences. Their discussions encouraged students to continue pursuing research that informs communities and creates meaningful impact.

One of the highlights of the forum was the recognition of outstanding research papers and poster presentations under both the Faculty and Student Categories.

For the Faculty Category, the following studies were recognized during the Best Poster Presenter competition:

🥇 1st Place – “Ethical Boundaries of Generative AI in Coursework: Perceptions of Graduating Undergraduate Students at a Philippine State College” by Mx. Mx Gee Besto
🥈 2nd Place – “The Influence of Political Posters on Gen Z Voting Preferences” by Dr. Felimon Bonita Blanco
🥉 3rd Place – “Economic Engagement in the Christmas Symbols Festival 2025: An Analysis of Vendor, Sales, Expenditures, and Local Business Participation in Tangub City” by Ms. Lee Christine C. Capuyan
🥉 4th Place – “Determining Audience Satisfaction Level Towards DXCT FM Programming” by Mrs. Sharon S. Bazar

Meanwhile, in the Student Category, Ms. Hanifa Sanday proudly emerged as one of the biggest winners of the forum after bagging both the Best Research Paper Award and Best Presenter

Award for her study titled:

🏆 “Digging for the Truth: Unpacking Media Frames on Development versus Environment in Large-scale Mining Coverage”

Her outstanding performance, critical analysis, and effective presentation reflected the excellence, dedication, and research potential of Development Communication students in addressing socially relevant issues through communication studies.

Beyond the awards and presentations, the forum became a space for collaboration, learning, and inspiration — proving that communication and research remain powerful tools in shaping communities and empowering voices.

The NMSCST Development Communication Society extends its heartfelt gratitude to all organizers, facilitators, speakers, panel members, participants, and guests who contributed to the success of Day 1 of DevCom Days 2026.

Today marks the official opening of the celebration through the ribbon-cutting ceremony of 𝐋𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭, a showcase of visual narratives captured by talented student photographers from the BS Development Communication Program. More than an exhibit, 𝐋𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍 stands as a reflection of stories, identities, communities, and moments transformed into meaningful visual communication.

This opening symbolizes not only the start of the exhibit but also the beginning of two days dedicated to creativity, learning, collaboration, and reimagining possibilities through communication.
