The College of Arts and Sciences recently hosted its student research colloquium, Exploring Frontiers: A Colloquium on Students’ Researches in the College of Arts and Sciences, with the theme Celebrating Excellence and Innovation at CHMSU-Talisay Audio-Visual Room on December 16, 2024.

The event began with a warm welcome from the College Dean, Dr. Arjay Y. Alvarado, followed by an inspiring keynote address delivered by Dr. Ramon Clemente Martin F. Lachica, who also served as the external evaluator for the students' research presentations.

The colloquium showcased a diverse range of research studies across disciplines such as Language, Social Science, and Psychology. These presentations were rigorously evaluated by the panel of evaluators, Dr. Jesusa E. Pineda, Dr. May C. Peracullo, Dr. Lovelyn L. Granfiel, and Dr. Lachica, with exemplary works earning recognition and awards. The program concluded on a high note, leaving participants with a sense of accomplishment, new insights for future endeavors, and cherished memories.

After each category, Dr. John Gerald A. Pilar, CBMA Research Coordinator, expressed his impressions about research protocols.

The event was thoughtfully organized by Dr. Roxanne M. Rivera, BS Psychology research professor, in collaboration with Mr. Jansen P. Tumabing, the CAS Research Coordinator.

The College of Arts and Sciences proudly participates in the CHMSU_PRIME Fiesta 2024 Exhibit with the theme Celebrating Interdisciplinary Excellence, showcasing its excellence in research and community engagement.

The exhibit highlights the diverse achievements of the college, including awards, certificates, and professional memberships earned by CAS faculty researchers in prestigious conferences and organizations. Visitors can also explore the innovative research-based initiatives and impactful community extension products developed by the college.

This vibrant display was brought to life through the collaborative efforts of the CAS Research and Development Services (RDS), the CAS Extension and Community Services (ECS), and the CAS Council, further enhancing the festive spirit of the event.

The exhibit will remain open for viewing from December 16 to 17, 2024.
