Picked up from the lines, Thanks to You by Tyler Collins, “ NO MOUNTAIN, NO VALLEY, NO TIME, NO SPACE...CANT STOP ME FROM BELIEVING... a familiar song that flaunt our students hunger and thirst for education, knowledge, skills and advancement of Technology.
Tapul National High School has existed in the year 2007 as an extension school for Tapul Elementary. From scratch to nowhere of finding a place even under trees just to have a shelter for students who would love to learn.
Tapul NHS as a small school with no less than 300 students from Grade 7 to Grade 12 has equipped itself with the facilities and equipment to prepare students for real competition of what this modern times of advancement set them to be. As one of the mountain school in the Division of Talisay City, Tapul NHS continues to cater the needs of every learner to become
information and computer literate individuals and competes to the growing population of 21st Century Learners.
Special Features of the School
Tapul National High School is constructed in the site of Tapul Elementary School which is approximately 10, 000 square meters. It is located on top of a mountain. It has a rolling topography. It is a good 400 meters climb from the barangay road to the school. The trail from the road to school is not accessible to any means of transportation. Big and small mahogany trees surround the place; a few jackfruit trees are struggling for existence amidst the forest trees. Ornamental plants are growing along the pathway which are mostly concreted and bounded by hedges. The air is free from pollution and from outside noise during class hours because it is far from the road and neighboring houses; thus, it is conducive to learning.
Water is a big problem of the school. Thus, we and the elementary school share a single pipe separated by tanks, one tank owned by them and one by us. Water is not safe for drinking. It can only be used to water the plants., flush the toilets and in cleaning.
The school site was acquired in 1946 as stated in the Tapul Elementary School Card; it has no existing proof of ownership. Reliable persons said it was bought by the PTA. The area is bounded by old Madre cacao trees and has a “Mohon” defining its boundaries. Titling the school site lot is the biggest problem of the school head.

But the responsibilities of a school head, like me should not only be focused within the school premises, rather, communicative process and approaches are needed as well to build bridges towards all stakeholders and encourage them to lend a helping hand in the realization of the school1s goals, vision and mission. Cooperation and communication among concerns could be an answer to make a difference in the lives of the students.
In it, the school seeks to continually improve the students` academic performance until it reaches the 75% mastery of nationally defined basic learning competencies as set by EFA Performance Indicator.
The students will finish the four-year junior High School and two- year Senior High School Curriculum to equip them with knowledge and skills of a functionally literate individual, that will lay foundation for a lifelong learning that will make them productive members of the community.
