We, the 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 of 𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐄𝐍𝐆 𝟑 - 𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐍, proudly present a stage play that brings to life the forgotten yet powerful story of “𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗚” — a courageous Talisaynon heroine whose strength, passion, and patriotism were never written in our history books, yet live deeply in the spirit of our people.

The Administration of Talisay City College is aware of the inappropriate social media posts made by one of our students regarding the recent flood disaster, the plight of the affected residents, and ill-judged comments on other issues. These posts have caused significant distress, for which we sincerely regret the impact on our community.

We want to assure you that we take this matter with the utmost seriousness. The sentiments expressed in these posts 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲. While accountability is essential, we are committed to interventions centered on behavioral development, guidance, and support to ensure the student learns from this lapse in judgment and develops a stronger sense of digital and community responsibility for the long term.

In line with this recent incident, we would like to remind our dear Talisalites about the use of official communication channels.

1. We wish to inform the public that the social media page currently operating under the name "Talisay City College Talisalites" and bearing the former logo of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) is 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱, 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲.
The unauthorized use of the institution's logo, including that of the SSC, is 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀.

2. We strongly remind our students that 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Students must utilize the proper, established institutional channels (such as the Office of Student Affairs or the Student Conduct and Discipline Office) to voice their concerns so that due process can be followed for an effective and formal resolution.

The dream destination is a VAW-free country, and our commitment today determines where we will be tomorrow.

As the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) spearheads the national 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, we call on every Filipino to move from awareness to action, from advocacy to activism, and from watchers to warriors.

This is more than an invitation; it is a shared national responsibility to ensure every woman and girl lives free from fear, abuse, and violence.

A VAW-free Philippines gives us the following signals for action:
• 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣 violence against women. Women’s rights are human rights.
• 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 beyond silence. Do not judge a story you don’t fully know.
• 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡 with compassion. Put yourself in the shoes of victim-survivors, and champion their right to safety, dignity, and justice.

Ending VAW rests on all of us. Let us rise as one, stand UNiTEd, and build a VAW-free Philippines!

He was Professor at the Asian Center from 1973 until his death where he taught courses on Philippine ethnography, social organization, and prehistory. He served as Director of the Philippine Studies Program at the UP Asian Center (then Philippine Center for Advanced Studies), Dean of the UP Institute of Philippine Studies, and Head of the Asian Center Museum Laboratory. He was honored as Professor Emeritus of the UP Asian Center.
The collection was launched on 19 November 2024 through an online roundtable.
