From start to finish, the day was filled with meaningful
discussions, transparency, and shared plans for the year ahead.
We welcomed our students, recognized past leaders, presented
reports and action plans, and opened the floor for voices to be
heard, all in the spirit of unity and growth.

Thank you to the BSIT faculty, SITS officers, and students who

𝐔𝐒𝐞𝐏 𝐓𝐌𝐂 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐒𝐈𝐓 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲

Marking a significant milestone in their academic journey, USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) Program held its 2nd Pinning Ceremony for the incoming 4th year students earlier today, June 16, at the Farmer’s Training Center (FTC) Hall.

BSIT Program Head Dr. Editha L. Hebron called the event a celebration of the students’ hard work, implying readiness in facing new challenges outside the classroom upon receiving their respective pins.

A total of 43 students were recognized and pledged in the said ceremony. The event was a success, with the interns set to exercise technology theories to real-world application.

Moreover, Practicum Coordinator Ms. Lyn G. Enriquez guaranteed that the practicum will sharpen their technical expertise, strengthen communication and collaboration skills, and deepen their understanding of the IT profession.

𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐄𝐧𝐫𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳, 𝐄𝐂𝐄, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, shared his invaluable insights on the 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 in the field of telecommunications during Technofest 2025.

His talk focused on advancements in internet speed—specifically the transition from 4𝙂 𝙩𝙤 5𝙂—and the profound impact these technologies will have on 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, and 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐓 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬.

Mr. Enriquez highlighted how 𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐎 is at the forefront of optimizing network performance to deliver 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭, paving the way for a 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

His session inspired students to explore the evolving world of telecommunications and its vital role in shaping the 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞.

We were honored to have 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗔. 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼, a distinguished IT alumnus, join us during Technofest 2025 to share his valuable insights and experiences in the IT field.

His talk emphasized the importance of 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 in building a successful career in IT.

Mr. Castro's personal journey served as an inspiration, showing students that the road to success is shaped by 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 to growth.

His message encouraged students to explore diverse opportunities and embrace the many possibilities the IT field has to offer.

One of the highlights of 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 was the sharing of insights from our distinguished speakers from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗧. 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗧 𝟭 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, delivered a comprehensive talk on 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. He emphasized the growing importance of digital safety, the threats that come with increased online activity, and the role of IT professionals in promoting responsible and secure digital practices. His session empowered students to take cybersecurity seriously—not just as a technical concern but as a critical part of everyday digital life.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝘄𝘆𝗻 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗧. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼, 𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗧 𝟭, followed with a compelling discussion on 𝗲𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. He showcased how technology is being utilized to enhance government services, streamline public transactions, and foster transparency and accountability in governance. His talk opened the eyes of students to the real-world applications of IT in nation-building and public service.

Both speakers left a lasting impression, inspiring students to become 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 contributors to the digital landscape. 💡

💬 The morning kicked off with an inspiring seminar sponsored by DICT and DITO, featuring thought-provoking talks on digital innovation, industry trends, and an empowering message from one of our accomplished IT alumni. It was a perfect moment to reflect on the values of integrity and leadership that mold the future of tech. 🌐✨

The afternoon turned up the energy as clusters made their 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 with creative cheers and yells! Students showcased their talents in the TechnoLympics, battled it out in the MLBB tournament, and expressed their artistry in the banner making contest! 🎨🎮🏆

More than just a tech event, Technofest 2025 was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community 💡🤝 — a true reflection of what it means to be part of the ever-evolving world of 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮! 🚀💙

𝗕𝗦𝗜𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀

The Society of Information Technology Students (SITS) successfully facilitated the BSIT Second Semestral Orientation last Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the FTC Hall. This event aimed to equip students with essential academic guidelines, policies, and insights for a productive and successful semester ahead.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from the masters of ceremony, Kyle Harvey Renigado and Alexis Bughao, emphasizing the importance of staying
informed and prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The session covered various key topics, including academic regulations, course requirements, student responsibilities, and upcoming activities within the department.
Faculty members and student leaders also shared valuable advice to help students navigate their academic journey with confidence.

The event concluded with a motivating message from THE SITS Governor, Dave Angelo Labad, urging students to take full advantage of the resources and support systems available to them. A group photo session followed, capturing the enthusiasm and unity of the BSIT community as they embark on another semester of growth and learning.

With a clear roadmap ahead, the BSIT Second Semestral Orientation successfully set the tone for a semester filled with opportunities, challenges, and innovation. Students left the event empowered, ready to take on the semester with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
