𝐓𝐃𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐢 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Tagum Doctors College, Inc. demonstrated their excellence and skills in arguments and wordplay by taking second place in the Lantugi 2023: Interschool and Intercollegiate Debate Tournament held on April 16, 2023, at the New City Hall Atrium, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Jules Earl H. Palma, Shawn Mikael Fox L. Jabon, and Barry Pelicano were the chosen students that represented Tagum Doctors College, Inc., accompanied by their coach, Prof. Angel Almadro, LPT. During the semi-finals, the TDClashers Debate Society secured their place in the finals as they triumphed against the USEP Dissents. They advanced to the championship of the college category, where they were upended by the UMTC Debate Team (UM Tagum College), who won the championship debate and exhibited that their points of view were worth hearing. Jabon was named the fifth-best speaker and Palma the fourth-best speaker after the match.

Finally, Pelicano won as the second-finest speaker at the 1st Lantugi Debate Tournament 2023. Jabon and Palma are the Feature and News editors of The Hone, the official student publication of Tagum Doctors College Inc.

Before Battle: Radtech in Modern Healthcare High Tech, Rad Tech, High Move. These are the words that Hon. Ma. Jesette B. Canales, RRT, MAEd, the first resource speaker, uttered as she began her talk about the PRC or the Professional Regulatory Commission during the pre-conference of the Radiologic Technology Department held at PCU, Magdum, Tagum City, Davao del Norte last November 30, 2022, as an embark to the beginning of the 4th International Research Conference.

Hon. Canales explained the duties, responsibilities, and functions of the Professional Regulatory Board of Radiologic Technology, as well as the board itself. She also discussed the Professional Regulation Commission Anniversary, Board of Radiologic Technology Accomplishments, Continuing Professional Development, Career Progression and Specialization Program of radiologic technology.

Ms. Elaine N. Otadoy, RRI, the second resource speaker, has introduced the future of radiology emphasizing that technology evolves in tandem with our changing world. With the machine transitions, she shared how advanced machines are right now. Ms. Elaine also presented the importance of artificial intelligence, or A.I., and stated that the global shortage of radiologists, enhanced productivity, better diagnostic accuracy, lower rates of misdiagnosis, and improved patient outcomes is the reason why AI’s are needed nowadays. At the end of her speech, she added that we should not be reliant on technology because even with the different advancements, manpower is still highly needed.

M. Dannalyn D. Ibanez, RRI, MAEM, and PHD, the third speaker for the pre-conference, discussed the introduction to data analysis. Data analysis is crucial to writing the research paper because it presents accurate and reliable data. Her discussion covered the following topics: defining data analysis and statistics, presenting the various types of analysis, levels of measurement, and measures of central tendencies; the major areas of statistics, population and sample; data collection methods; probability and non-probability sampling collection; hypothesis and errors in hypothesis testing; and the level of significance.

Radiologists play an important role in modern healthcare. As we conclude this event, the pre-conference has opened the eyes of the students to a bigger reality. It paves the way and inspires the students to become competent when it comes to their chosen profession. With technology at hand, we see beyond.
