Students from the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) program of UMTC delivered an outstanding performance at the BPED RXI Games 2026, held on May 2, 2026, at the University of Mindanao โ€“ Davao. The regional sporting and musical event gathered various colleges and universities across Region XI offering the BPE program, fostering athletic excellence, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among future physical education professionals.

Demonstrating both competitive strength and discipline, the UM Tagum College delegation emerged as one of the top-performing institutions, securing multiple victories and individual recognitions across different sporting events.

In basketball, the UMTC menโ€™s team delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament, finishing as Champion. Leading the charge was Eduardo Suarez, who was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his exceptional leadership and consistent scoring. Supporting him were Kevin Jacob Patalino and Kier Banluta, both of whom earned spots in the prestigious Mythical Five, recognizing them as among the best players in the tournament.

The menโ€™s volleyball team also delivered a strong showing, finishing as 1st Runner-Up (2nd Place). Individual excellence was recognized through Zianlloyd Mirafuentes, who was awarded Best Setter, and Rodrigo Pond, who earned Best Opposite Hitter honors.

Meanwhile, the womenโ€™s volleyball team secured 3rd Place, with Clyde Rose Tagaod standing out as Best Opposite Hitter, highlighting the teamโ€™s competitive spirit and technical skill.

In dancesport, UMTC athletes demonstrated grace and precision, achieving 2nd Place in the Latin category, further showcasing the programโ€™s versatility beyond traditional sports.

Track and field events also brought pride to the institution. Jan Gilbert Bayang sprinted to victory in the 200-meter menโ€™s dash, while Miahra Tadena secured 2nd Place in the womenโ€™s 200-meter dash, adding to the medal tally of UM Tagum College.

The success of the delegation was made possible through the leadership of the BPE Program Head, Dr. Saramie Belleza, alongside the dedicated support and guidance of the faculty members who mentored, trained, and prepared the student-athletes for the competition.

The achievements of the UMTC BPE students underscore the institutionโ€™s commitment to excellence in sports and physical education. Their performance not only reflects rigorous training and preparation but also reinforces the role of BPE programs in developing well-rounded, competitive, and resilient individuals.

As the BPED RXI Games continue to serve as a platform for showcasing athletic talent across Region XI, UM Tagum College stands proud of its athletes, program head, and faculty members who collectively brought honor and recognition to the institution.

Triumph and teamwork defined this yearโ€™s Interbranch Expression Skills 2026 as Collegium, the official student publication of UM Tagum College emerged as champions in the Collaborative Desktop Publishing (CDP) competition.

Competing against five UM branches, Collegiumโ€™s performance in CDP showcased utmost competence and collective strength as the participants, consisting Collegiumโ€™s Editor-in-Chief Jella Kudera, Associate Editor Nathazsa Ashley Papas, Head Layout Editor Karl Kirvy Enojas, Senior Writer Jeo Angelo Ampis, and Senior Layout Artist Reister Jay Pulido, demonstrated their skills in news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, editorial cartooning, photojournalism, and layout and page design.
โ€œThis triumph is a massive thing for us since it stands as a manifestation of our relentless pursuit for excellence after the tremendous preparation we have poured for the contest. This is such a beautiful reward for our late nights and sacrifices, this success will not be possible without the forged efforts of the team,โ€ Jella Mae Kudera, the publicationโ€™s Editor-in-Chief and one of the participants in the interbranch shared.

Moreover, she reflected that this win serves as a comeback for the group after their defeat in the last year's CDP competition.

At the end, as this yearโ€™s UM interbranch festivities and competitions come to a conclusion, the organization continues to produce outputs that embody excellence with utmost honesty and precision.
