In line with the Earth Day 2026 theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," the Graduating Class of the College of Public Administration took part in a Tree Growing Activity to give back to Mother Earth.

Together with LGU Kapalong, MENRO, KCAST, Brgy. Maniki, and Brgy. Tiburcia, we stand united in our commitment to environmental stewardship.

This is more than just an activity—it's our legacy as future public administrators. May these trees grow strong, just like our dedication to serve the people and the planet.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲

A recent study found that student accommodation providers in Davao del Norte continue to apply gender-based preferences, with some housing options reserved for girls, some limited to male or female students, and others open to all. While these practices are often justified by safety concerns, personal values, and local guidelines, they can create unequal access to housing, especially for LGBTQIA+ students. The study also showed that most accommodations are located within 0.3 kilometres of the local college, highlighting the importance of accessibility. In response, researchers recommend that local government units and higher education institutions adopt and enforce gender-inclusive policies, conduct regular inspections, train accommodation providers, and support gender-sensitive infrastructure to ensure safe and equitable housing for all students.

Bringing innovation closer to the community, the 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻 will be held on April 8, 2026, at the Gymnasium in Sitio Patel, Barangay Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

This initiative is jointly organized by the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝘆𝘀𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. (MDFI), 𝗔𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 (AdDU), and 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (KCAST). The activity will feature plenary sessions, robotics exhibits, and hands-on learning engagements, with a strong focus on the Bachelor of Agriculture students of the KCAST Patel Extension Class as primary beneficiaries.

Designed to bridge agriculture and technology, the caravan will equip Patel’s agriculture students with foundational knowledge in robotics and its potential applications in modern and smart farming. Through this exposure, students are expected to gain new perspectives on innovation in agriculture, enhancing their skills and readiness for technology-driven agricultural practices. This initiative highlights a shared commitment to empowering young agri-learners and advancing inclusive, future-ready education in rural communities.

March 25, 2026, the College of Public Administration proudly joined the Municipality of Kapalong in celebrating its 10th Peace Day: "Kalinaw: Gahapon, Karon, ug Ugma. Kapalong, Padayon Ta." Standing in solidarity with the community at the Kapalong Maniki Green Paradise, our talented students showcased the spirit of unity through the "Sayaw sa Kalinaw." 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗠. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 for successfully earning his 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 from the University of Mindanao, Davao City. He was conferred as graduate on March 25, 2026.

𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐧 “𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐠” 🌱

Under the development agenda of his administration, 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗟. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹 conducted a monitoring activity for the ongoing road development project at Sitio Biokong, Barangay Sampao, Kapalong, Davao del Norte on March 19, 2026. The initiative aims to ensure the timely and effective implementation of infrastructure projects that directly benefit local communities.

Sitio Biokong is one of the adopted communities of the Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST) under its extension program, “𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙠𝙤𝙣𝙜: 𝘼 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙖𝙩 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙤.” The program focuses on delivering sustainable and community-responsive interventions to improve accessibility, livelihoods, and overall quality of life.

This project highlights the strong collaboration between the Local Government Unit of Kapalong and KCAST in advancing inclusive and transformative development. Through continued partnership, proactive leadership, and community engagement, initiatives such as this pave the way for empowered communities and sustainable progress in Kapalong.
