As we explored the community helpers who keep us safe, the Champs learned about the important roles of police officers, soldiers, security guards, and firefighters, including the jobs they do and the tools they use to protect our community. Through engaging activities such as creating a box walkie-talkie, trying out a mini navigation compass, completing a firefighter obstacle course, and reading the story I'm a Firefighter, they gained a better understanding of firefighters' protective clothing, rescue vehicles, and simple fire safety practices while building their vocabulary, confidence, and appreciation for these everyday heroes. 🚒👨‍🚒🔥

As the Champs explored the Enquiry topic, Our Community, they learned about the important roles community helpers play in our everyday lives. To show gratitude and compassion, the Pre-K Champs prepared egg sandwiches and personally delivered them to the teachers, custodians, utility personnel, cleaners, and security guards in our school. We are proud to see the Champs growing into caring, thoughtful, and compassionate members of our little community.

Our Champs discovered the amazing world of the sense of touch through exciting hands-on sensory activities. They explored different textures by touching and feeling objects while blindfolded and bravely stepped into tubs filled with black beans, sand, cold water, and soapy water using their bare feet.

Through these fun experiences, the Champs learned how their hands and feet help them explore the world around them while developing their curiosity, confidence, sensory awareness, and descriptive language.

Our Champs had a wonderful time exploring the importance of family by sharing and discovering their baby pictures and family photos. Through this meaningful activity, they learned to recognise family members such as Mommy, Daddy, and Baby while also identifying the different parts of the face, including the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and hair.

This engaging experience helped develop their observation skills, language, self-awareness, and appreciation for their own families while building confidence as they shared their special memories with their classmates.

Fire Safety Starts with Knowledge! 🔥🚒

As part of our Community Helpers learning journey, our Champs took part in a fun and meaningful fire safety activity! They practiced staying calm, crawling low to avoid smoke, and safely making their way to the fire exit—just like firefighters teach us to do in an emergency.

Through hands-on experiences like these, our Champs build confidence, develop safety awareness, and learn valuable life skills that will stay with them for years to come.
